Boswellia, Sandalwood, and Wolfberry Face and Eye CreamsExposure to summer sun on your skin can cause skin to become dry, itchy, and look much older. Here is a terrific tip to get rid of the dryness, itchiness, and maintain radiant youthful looking skin.

Add the following essential oils to 1 TBSP Boswellia Wrinkle Cream (#5141), or to 1 TBSP Sandalwood Moisturizing Cream (#5148)…

6 drops Rosewood essential oil (#3629)
4 drops Geranium essential oil (#3554)
3 drops Lavender essential oil (#3575)
2 drops Frankincense essential oil (#3548)

Apply mixture to face, neck, arms, hands, legs and feet twice a day.

Tip: Both the Boswellia Wrinkle Cream and Sandalwood Moisturizing Cream are excellent on their own and you only need a tiny amount on an area to get the benefits. To give you an idea of how far these creams go, one TBSP will do most of the areas mentioned above, that’s how little you need to use. These are extremely cost efficient beauty and skin care products! You may also find that your skin becomes more radiant and youthful too.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

With concerns of chemicals in personal care products, such as shaving cream, it’s nice to know there is a completely natural solution. This recipe is perfect for those seeking to eliminate harmful chemicals in their home and have a more natural lifestyle.Everyday Oils

The essential oil you choose for your foaming shaving cream will depend on if it’s for ‘her’ or ‘him’ and the aromatherapy benefits you would like to see. Remember, the use of therapeutic-grade essential oils will provide benefits going far beyond just a lovely scent, see ‘olfactory‘ to get an idea of how far-reaching scents can go.

You will need:

  • 1 bottle Young Living Bath & Shower Gel Base
  • Choice of Young Living Essential Oil(s), see choices below
  • Water
  • Foaming Pump Bottle(s), see link below

5 Steps to Make Your Own All-natural Foaming Shaving Cream

  1. In the foaming pump bottle fill the bottle almost 50% way full with water.
  2. Then, fill the bottle with the Bath & Shower Gel Base to about 1 inch from the top.
  3. Add up to 10 drops of your chosen Young Living essential oil to the foaming pump bottle.
  4. Stir well with a chop stick or metal skewer until well blended. You might like to add slightly more water than base because it makes the foam lighter – but use the proportions that you enjoy best.
  5. Screw the pump back onto the bottle, label the bottle with the name of the essential oil and that it’s “Shaving Cream” – get festive with the label and add a ribbon if it is to be a gift.

That’s it! Isn’t this simple?

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Many can identify with stress and tension locating itself somewhere in the body, mine has always gone straight to my neck and shoulders. Causing pain, discomfort, stiff neck, difficultly turning my neck, and when I wake up feeling stiff and uncomfortable it produces an emotional feeling of, “ugh, here we go again. I’d just love to have this nonsense go away for good.”

Two weeks ago, I went back to the drawing board, my essential oils case and Essential Oils Desk Reference (EODR). The blend called Release™ has always been quite good for me, though it never addressed the problem completely, two weeks ago I decided that it was time to find an essential oil that more adequately nipped this in the bud.

After about an hour, I made my decision. I chose the blend Humility™ and two singles, Sandalwood and Jasmine. I’ve had these three oils massaged on my neck, shoulders and back three times in the past two weeks and I have to tell you the results have been amazing! But before I tell you my results I want to share how I came to this conclusion so that it may help you make choices that produce great results to.

How I went about choosing Humility™, Sandalwood and Jasmine Read the rest of this entry »

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Excerpted from one of our most valuable resouces for using Young Living Essential Oils, the Essential Oils Desk Reference

Today, we live in a society of emotional turmoil.  There is more focus on emotional behavior and psychological conditions of the body now than at any time in our history. Many doctors are recognizing the possibility that a number of diseases are caused by emotional problems that link back to infancy or even to problems that occurred during conception or while in the womb. These emotional problems may have compromised the immune system or genetic structuring, causing children to become allergic to something that the mother ingested while pregnant.

Essential oils play an important role in assisting people in getting beyond these emotional barriers.  The aldehydes and esters of certain essential oils are very calming and sedating to the central nervous system (which consists of both the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems). These substances allow us to relax instead of letting anxiety build up in our body. Anxiety creates an acidic condition that activates the transcript enzyme that transcribes that emotion on the RNA template (RNA is the sister molecule of DNA) and stores it in the DNA. That emotion then becomes a predominant factor in our lives from that moment on.

When we have an emotional situation come up, instead of being overwhelmed by it, we can diffuse the oils, put them in our bath, or wear them as cologne. The oil molecules will absorb into the bloodstream from the nasal and buccal cavity to the limbic system [more on olfactory]. They will activate the amygdala (the memory center for fear and trauma) and sedate and relax the sympathetic/parasympathetic system. The oils help support the body in minimizing the acid that is created so that it does not create a reaction with the transcript enzyme.

Because essential oils affect the amygdala and pineal gland in the brain, they can help the mind and body by releasing emotional traumas and sharpening focus.

Essential oils provide assistance with staying centered in our goals. People have many distractions in today’s fast-paced world. For example, if you are struggling to retain or remember information, breathing the essential oils of peppermint, or rosemary stimulate the brain and memory functions for better focus and concentration.  Someone who is focusing on creating a business but finds other problems that interfere with that focus, could breathe the essential oils of galbanum, frankincense, sandalwood and/or melissa. These oils are extremely beneficial in enabling a person to bring his or her mind into a center of focus. The blend Gathering will also bring focus to people’s minds. For emotional clearing and release, the essential oil blend Trauma Life is especially helpful.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

I think it’s pretty well known these days that all of the personal care products sold commercially contain toxic chemical ingredients, even those sold in health food stores use lower quality essential oils which contain a lot of very toxic chemicals. Which makes me wonder… why in the world would someone go to the trouble of making a more natural product and then ruin it with a chemical laden essential oil. It makes no sense to me, not to mention the fact that it is misleading and confusing to consumers to think they’re paying extra for something healthy, when in fact it’s just as bad, if not worse, than a regular product made out of nothing but chemical ingredients.

There is hope!

You can so easily make your own personal care products, and household cleaning products too – taking only a few mere minutes to do! There is no special equipment necessary, and no hard to locate ingredients.

The only thing you really need to have access to is superior quality essential oils. With the hard part taken care of, finding a superior quality essential oil, here’s a super easy recipe for making your own shaving cream…

There are two ingredients you will need to order from Young Living Essential Oils:

1) your essential oil of choice, and

2) the Bath & Shower Gel Base.

You can make this recipe and put it in a jar with a tight fitting lid, or you can get ‘foaming pump’ bottles here. They’re very inexpensive and you may choose to get many so that you can make all-natural shaving cream for gifts to help your friends and family experience too how wonderful it is to live with chemical-free personal care products.

All-Natural Shaving Cream Recipe (for Him or Her)

  • 1 bottle Bath & Shower Gel Base

  1. In the foaming pump bottle fill the bottle almost 50% way full with water.
  2. Then, fill the bottle with the Bath & Shower Gel Base to about 1 inch from the top.
  3. Add 10-20 drops of your chosen essential oil to the foaming pump bottle. Stir well with a chop stick or metal skewer until well blended. I like to add slightly more water than base because it makes the foam lighter – but use the proportions that you enjoy best.
  4. Screw the pump back onto the bottle, label the bottle with the name of the essential oil and that it’s “Shaving Cream” – get festive with the label and add a ribbon if it is to be a gift.

That’s it!
