“I am continually amazed at how powerful these oils are.  Inhaling the peppermint oil and drinking the ocotea oil in my water makes me eat less food and has helped me to lose weight. Using the lemon oil topically has helped condition and tighten  my skin, and lose some extra bulk around my middle! Anyone who doesn’t use these oils along with whatever else they’re doing to lose weight is really missing out — “ ~ Julie B.

“1 drop of Ocotea oil in the AM and 1 drop in the PM orally helped curb my appetite. My waist is back and my body is back to a hour glass shape. I’m down to a size 4 without working at it.” ~ Margie H.

Stress Away Essential Oil Roll-On

Stress Away Roll-On is a unique blend of vanilla, lime, and other essential oils makes relieving daily stress convenient and easy. This blend smells so wonderful I wear it as a perfume!

Stress Away also includes copaiba and lavender to reduce mental rigidity and restore equilibrium. It also features powerful plant constituents, such as the cedrol found in cedarwood and the eugenol that occurs naturally in vanilla. Cedrol can help induce relaxation, while eugenol works to reduce nervous tension. All of these ingredients are expertly blended with the exotic scent of ocotea, an exclusive Ecuador single.

Adding to the uplifting aroma of Stress Away is a subtle hint of lime, from coumarin-free lime essential oil. Regular lime, like most citrus essential oils, contains coumarins that are potentially photo-sensitizing and damaging to the skin, this lime essential oil minimizes any skin sensitivity, particularly when used while in the sun.

Stress Away Benefits

  • Reduce stress any time, anywhere with the convenience and portability of an essential oil roll-on.
  • Use Stress Away in anticipation of events or situations that may cause mental tension.
  • Lessening normal everyday stress can lead to improved sleep and elevated state of mind.

Key Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils in Stress Away

  • Vanilla – the warm, sweet aroma of vanilla calms and reduces tension.
  • Lime – the delicious scent of lime is robust and refreshing.
  • Ocotea – ocotea is an exotic scent somewhat similar to cinnamon.
  • Cedarwood - one of the highest known levels of sesquiterpenes, cedarwood works with the brain to improve relaxation.
  • Copaiba – supports the Stress Away blend with the powerful constituent beta caryophyllene.
  • Lavender – a floral scent that helps calms any tense mood.

How To Use Stress Away Roll-On

Shake well and apply generously to wrists, neck, arms, or anywhere you love experiencing essential oils.

Notable Facts About the essential Oils in Stress Away

  • Ocotea essential oil is derived from the tall ocotea tree and has a long history of traditional usage in the Amazon.
  • Copaiba is the only essential oil extracted through tapping, similar to how maple and rubber are gathered.
  • The vanilla in Stress Away does not contain water, unlike most vanilla oil sold on the market today.

Found only in a small region of Amazonian Ecuador and Colombia, Ocotea quixos is from the same family (Lauraceae) as the common spice we know as Cinnamon and has a very faint cinnamon aroma. Ishpingo is the Quechua name for the native Ecuadorian “American Cinnamon” tree flowers which occur every two years; while Ishpingo is distilled from the flowers, Ocotea essential oil is distilled from the branches and leaves.  ocotea

In the 16th century, a large Spanish expedition perished, almost down to the last man, while searching for the origin of this spice. Yet after its discovery, “American cinnamon” has not gained any culinary importance, even though it has been used for hundreds of years as a flavoring for sweets and cakes.

In the foothills of the Amazon region Ocotea quixos has been heavily exploited for its timber. Its bark is used in herbal medicine. Ishpingo (Ocotea) has also been used in tea and flavoring.

Gary Young refered to Ocotea essential oil as “Helichrysum on steroids” to describe its potent effects and stating that this essential oil is the ultimate amplifier to other essential oils.

Ocotea has a long history and many practical uses, having been used as a disinfectant, antidiarrhea, and helping to regulate glucose levels. Ocotea contains alpha humulene 9% (only Copaiba essential oil has comparable levels of this natural plant compound) and has a history of also being used as an anti-inflammatory and reducing swelling. Ocotea has also been used for atheletes foot or any type of foot fungus.

A study on antiplatelet and antithrombotic activities of essential oil from wild Ocotea quixos (Lam.) Kosterm. (Lauraceae) calices from Amazonian Ecuador showed a favourable safety profile compared to the conventional antiplatelet agent, acetylsalicylic acid. Present findings indicate that Ocotea essential oil possesses potent and safe antithrombotic activity attributable to its antiplatelet and vasorelaxant effects. The main constituent trans-cinnamaldehyde seems to be the primary responsible for this activity through a putative mechanism involving the inhibition of thromboxane A2 receptors.

Another study Ocotea quixos Lam. essential oil: In vitro and in vivo investigation on its anti-inflammatory properties investigated the anti-inflammatory properties of Ocotea quixos essential oil and of its main components, trans-cinnamaldehyde and methyl cinnamate, in in vitro and in vivo models. Ocotea essential oil and trans-cinnamaldehyde but not methyl cinnamate significantly reduced LPS-induced NO release from J774 macrophages at non-toxic concentrations, inhibited LPS-induced COX-2 expression and increased forskolin-induced cAMP production. The essential oil (30-100mg/kg os) and trans-cinnamaldehyde (10mg/kg os) in carrageenan-induced rat paw edema showed anti-inflammatory effect without damaging gastric mucosa. In conclusion we provide the first evidence of a significant anti-inflammatory gastro-sparing activity of O.quixos essential oil.

And another study Comparative screening of plant essential oils: phenylpropanoid moiety as basic core for antiplatelet activity Ocotea quixos, F. vulgaris, and A. dracunculus showed the highest antiplatelet activity against ADP, Arachidonic Acid and the Thromboxane A2 agonist U46619 (IC50, 4-132 microg ml(-1)), and a good ability to destabilize clot retraction (IC50, 19-180 microg ml(-1)). For these oils a significant correlation between antiplatelet potency and phenylpropanoids content (54-86%) was evidenced thus suggesting a key role for this moiety in the prevention of clot formation. These findings provide the rationale to take in account the antiplatelet activity in the pharmacological screening of natural products containing phenylpropanoids.

While centuries of use throughout history and folklore alone do not constitute enough safety and efficacy evidence in todays scientific world it seems to me that once again our ancestors posessed great wisdom in their ability to distinguish beneficial plants from nonbeneficial. It has always fascinated me, just how much people from 2,000, 4,000 or 6,000 years ago knew about their surroundings and the other living things on earth and how to use them to benefit the human species. It wasn’t until quite recently in humankind’s existence that we shifted away from this more natural lifestyle. Is it me, or does it strike you too as being extremely odd that the foods and medicines that sustained humankind for many centuries are considered by some to be nothing more than Snake Oils; which by the way, didn’t always have a negative connotation.

Young Living’s Ocotea essential oil is wildcrafted and of course is distilled according to Young Living’s strict standards of producing the finest quality essential oils in the world.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

A few days ago I got my first bottle of Stress Away roll-on essential oil. WOW! I absolutely adore the scent! I’ve been wearing it daily as a perfume, a perfume with benefits none the less. Instantly, Stress Away made it’s way top the top of my favorites list.

Forty-three percent of all adults suffer adverse health effects from stress. Stress is a normal part of life, but it can have pervasive negative consequences when it’s porrly managed. Which is precisely why I love using aromatherapy when I feel out of sorts or too strong emotions that I’d rather not be feeling because it only messes things up further.  rollon-work-people

Stress isn’t always a negative thing. Certain amounts of stress can improve physical conditioning, challenge or mind and skill levels, or even help us meet our goals. The problem comes in when we endure stress for prolonged periods of stress without getting any relief. When our stress button is switched on all of the time it’s called distress, which can result in a variety of health concerns.

Statistics regarding distress are staggering:

  • Of all doctor’s office visits, 75 to 90 percent are for stress-related ailments and complaints.
  • Stress can play a part in problems such as headaches, high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, skin conditions, asthma, arthritis, depression, and anxiety.
  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) declared stress a hazard of the workplace.
  • Stress costs American industries more than $300 billion annually.
  • The lifetime prevalence of an emotional disorder is more than 50 percent, often due to chronic, untreated stress reactions.

Natural Methods for Stress Reduction

Stress reduction activities like meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, or aerobic exercise are excellent ways to reduce stress. When combined with stress reducing essential oils, such as the blend of oils in Sress Away, which are relaxing to the mind and body, we can make significant improvements in the quality of the way we feel and ultimately enhance the overall quality of our lives.  stress-away-rollon

When stopping what I’m doing isn’t an option I always turn to my Young Living essential oils, now with the new Stress Away blend added to my arsenal I have convenience of a portable and easy to use application. I keep one Stress Away RollOn in my purse and the other right here on my desk. I also enjoy that the roll-on applicator is a metal ball, rather than plastic (yuck, I can’t stand plastic) – it glides on so nice in a luxurious way. I wish you could smell Stress Away through this article and experience the divine scents of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender, in this therapeutic-grade essential oil blend.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Cravings come in all walks of life.  Craving for sugar, starches, salt, cigarettes, shopping and many other forms.  Many times when we have a craving, it just pops into our heads and before really thinking about it, we do whatever it is we are craving.  For me my cravings are for sugar and salty foods.  Most of my life I have been working on dealing with my hunger cravings. Trying different diet programs, hypnosis, meditation and even going to bed early.  I know to be able to beat the cravings you have to use your head. Think before doing or reacting.  Well, that has worked for me, but many a time, I get lazy and just don’t work on my thoughts and instead I’ll just reach for what I am craving. Not a good thing to do and I know my diet is compromising my immune system.

Part of my business is bookkeeping.  I go to  my clients places of business.  Many of them have food temptations.  And the holiday season is coming, so there will be even more of those year round temptations.  One tough one is just around the corner…..Halloween.  I can remember growing up in West Seattle and walking all over town coming home with a grocery bag of candy….mmmmmm did I love that.   I know that sugar is my enemy, not my friend, and that I must respect my immune system and my body, and conquer my hunger cravings.

When I was raising my son, who is now 30, I raised him on good healthy food and no sugar.  Funny how that back fired.  He loves sugar and eats a lot of it.  He actually has cut back, not that he needed to because of a weight problem, but he knows for his health he should.

Anyways back to cravings.  I am so happy about one of Young Livings new essential oils; Ocotea.  Ocotea is a new oil of Young Livings that may help balance the blood sugar and curbocotea hunger cravings,*  among other beneficial qualities, which I will go over later in this post. I really can’t say enough about this oil.  All my life with my battle for weight loss and some semblance of control, I have never come across anything as helpful as this oil.  I truly am so thankful for the kind of help I  am getting just from a few drops of Ocotea oil on a daily basis.

Ever since I began adding 2-3 drops to my NingXia Red in the mornings I do NOT have cravings and I am NOT hungry.  NingXia Red is a super anti-oxidant and supports the immune system*. On the first day I did this, I was less hungry and more energized.  When I say energized, I don’t mean like a caffeine buzz, but more like being in a cool breeze and feeling refreshed.  To me this is absolutely amazing.  I’ve tried many other products, from pills, that make me feel hyper,  to drinks and specially packaged foods.  Nothing compares to this.ningxia-red-singles

Buy Here

I am really happy and excited about the results I have seen and how I feel, physically and mentally.  I know without a doubt that Ocotea will be included in my life from now on.  I carry a bottle with me, for emergencies. The kind of emergency I am talking about is if I am around a food I want to eat but know I should not eat it.  I will once again add three drops of Ocotea to my super anti-oxidant energy drink, NingXia Red, which helps to support my immune system.  I carry convenient single packets of NingXia Red with me, not only for myself but to share with others.

About Ocotea:

Ocotea comes from 60-80 foot trees, approximately 38″ trunk. The tree is found in the Amazon Basin of Ecuador, from sea level up to 1,500 meters in altitude.  The trees are divided into male and female trees, with only the female tree producing foliage suitable for distillation into essential oils.

  • Every two years the Ocotea tree produces large flowers known as “ishpingo” or “flor de canela.”

Ocotea (Ocotea quixos) is wild crafted and distilled at Finca Botanica Aromatica, Young Living’s farm and distillery in Ecuador. The essential oil is extracted from the stem and leaves of the tree. It is related to the cinnamon species.  This essential oil has an aroma that is different from any common cinnamon.

  • Ocotea has a relatively low concentration of cinnamaldehyde (less than 5 percent), which is a natural plant chemical that can trigger sensitization reactions. Traditional cinnamon can contain up to 50 percent cinnamaldehyde.

Ocotea has the highest level of alpha-humulene of any essential oil. Alpha-humulene can balance the body’s internal response to irritation.*  Only copaiba essential oil has comparable levels of this natural plant compound. Animals rub against the trees to heal their wounds.
