Studies are showing puberty is beginning as early as age 7!! How scary and sad.  Why is this so? Researchers are coming up with ideas of: the types of foods that are being consumed AND household products and personal care products. Da……….

It is a grossly unfortunate situation. It has happened, I believe, yes because of the bad, processed and fast foods that come from animals pumped up with hormones and fed grains that have been grown in chemically fertilized grounds. Plus the large percentage of household cleaning products, personal care products and supplements, that are laden with ingredients that are bodies understand are not beneficial for consumption, because of the chemicals and toxins that are in them.

A little girl age 12 told me (this is now summer of 2010) that girls in her school are having sex at age 8!! My mouth dropped to the floor. Our conversation went on for sometime after that.

Who is to blame? Does it matter? What matters is RIGHT NOW we all need to make the appropriate changes in our lives and to teach our children how to take a turn on the road they are currently being led down, and show them what to do to correct what has been wronged of them.  This way the change begins and they will be able to lead the future in a much healthier way. Piggy Bank, saving moneyThere are many things we can do daily that conserve energy, reduce monthly expenses, and improve the quality of our lives. Some are:

1. Use ceiling fans! They use 1/10 of the electricity as A/C. My results: my electric bills have dropped $150 to $200 a month! This does keep the place comfortable most of the time, when I feel too hot I take a shower and use my Young Living essential oils. So for the couple of really hot days we have per month I am sure happy to make this trade-off and be saving hundreds of dollars every month!

2. Dry laundry on a clothesline – they will smell better too!

In 1998 The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History mounted an exhibition titled “American Clothespins,” which consisted in part of displays of patent models of clothespins from as long ago as the 1850s. People came in droves. Those old wooden pegs inspired a huge outpouring of nostalgia. Then one day Barbara Janssen, the curator behind the exhibition, was walking through the museum and saw a boy turn to his father and ask, “What’s a clothespin, Dad?” It’s no wonder the child had never seen one before.

Nearly 60 percent of American homes are now equipped with automatic clothes dryers. It’s in the shadow of the dryer that quaint old clothespins and clothespin doll kits turn up on auction at eBay. The device has become so superfluous that Janssen herself, the leading expert on its evolution, has no use for it beyond its appeal as a collector’s item. She once purchased a pack with playful flower-shaped heads at Target, but not to hang garments with. When asked if she has a clothesline, she replies, “Of course not. I use a dryer.” And, let’s not forget about the clothesline to hold the laundry and clothespins! Read the rest of this entry »

Lavender therapeutic-grade essential oil to “oilers” is considered the Swiss Army Knife or duct tape of essential oils because of its many helpful ways that may aid healing of our pets and ourselves.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it. Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender is highly regarded for skin and beauty. It may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. The French scientist René Gattefossé was among the first to observe and write about these properties when he was severely burned in a laboratory explosion.

23 Ways to Use Therapeutic Lavender Essential Oil

For dietary, aromatic or topical use. When using as a supplement, put one drop in a capsule or in 4 fl. oz. of rice or goat’s milk.

Note: the uses mentioned here are only in regards to the Young Living brand of essential oils. We cannot suggest uses for other brands as quality varies greatly; 98% of all essential oils produced in the world cannot be used the same ways we use YL oils.

  1. Rub Lavender oil on the feet for a calming effect on the body. More on foot care.
  2. Rub a drop of Lavender oil on your palms and smooth on your pillow, may help with sleep.
  3. Put a drop of Lavender oil on a bee sting or insect bite may help to stop itching and reduce swelling.
  4. Put 2-3 drops of Lavender oil on a minor burn, may help to decrease pain.*
  5. Drop Lavender oil on a cut, may help to stop the bleeding.* Read the rest of this entry »

When you go to the store to buy cleaning products, do you take the time to read the labels? The majority of people don’t, and are unaware of all the very “nasty” ingredients that are in the products.  A really sad thing is that our “wonderful” “government” does not care enough about us to be sure that we have quality, healthy, safe products to buy.  What’s up with that mentality? Power, control, financial greed?

Conventional cleaners contain a variety of toxic chemicals that can harm your family’s health, and that is why you should choose a green cleaner.  However not all green cleaners are free of chemicals.  It is important to choose a cleaning product that has the “Green Seal”.

The next time you intend to replace your cleaners PLEASE take the time to read the labels.  If the label is showing no ingredients, that is very scary, put it back on the shelf!!  You may discover that many cleaning products may state a minute percentage of the ingredients, and then the other 90 some % may be listed as “other ingredients”. Bed bugs are escalating because of global travel; the increase of homeless and underground communities; the popularity of “Flea” markets and 2nd-hand store merchandise. The escalation of bed bugs is alarming and people should be aware of the problem, how difficult it is to be rid of them, yet not be too discouraged, because there are natural, safe, chemical free ways to have those bed bugs be gone.

If you’re traveling or you’ve just recently purchased some used furniture, it’s a good idea to do an inspection for any mature bed bugs.  Bed bugs tend to be found in dwellings that are frequently used, like motels, hotels, apartments, dorms, care facilities, and most especially used furniture.

If you think you’re being bitten, it’s best to do a search of your home for these pests.  Bedding, clothes hampers, throw rugs, pillows and furniture are probably the first places you’ll want to search for bed bugs.

Vacuuming the mattress, using the “Bed Bug Spray” mentioned below, and applying a seal-able cover over the mattress should be sufficient.  Meanwhile, all clothes, linens, and bedding should be washed in HOT water, and the surrounding area vacuumed thoroughly.

Make sure that you dry the sheets and clothes in the dryer and not on a clothes line, as it is the long time in the dryer, not the washing machine, that will really ensure the bed bugs are dead.

Essential oil lovers prefer the Eco-friendly approach, and research shows that tree oils work best against parasites and menacing insects. Gary Young touts the praises of Palo Santo oil as the first choice for insect repellent. Palo Santo comes from an Ecuadorian tree which develops a resin to protect against infestation and it is from that resin that Young Living distills the Palo Santo oil.

Eucalyptus has been used historically for bed bugs, and Eucalyptus Blue is the first anti-viral Eucalyptus Oil . Native American Indians relied on pine needles and Cedarwood chips in their mattresses to ward off ticks and fleas.

Young Living essential oils are the essential oils that are being recommended for the following suggestions, as these essential oils are superior quality therapeutic-grade essential oils.

Bed Bug Spray

  • 10 drops of Palo Santo
  • 6 drops of Eucalyptus Blue
  • 5 drops of Cedarwood

Combine with 4 oz. Distilled Water in a spray bottle.

Mattress Sachets

To go after nesting eggs, combine Cornstarch or Baking Soda in Cotton Tea bags with:

  • Palo Santo
  • Eucalyptus Blue
  • Cedarwood

Place bags on underside of mattress.

Washing Bed Linens:

  • Thieves Household Cleaner
  • Purification Oil Blend
  1. 2-4 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner for a medium to large load.
  2. 4-6 drops of Purification oil blend.

Bug Bites:

  • Lavender
  • Purification Oil Blend

Apply 1 drop of either oil to the bug bites.

Diffuse:

  • Palo Santo
  • Eucalyptus Blue
  • Cedarwood

In either the TheraPro or (nebulizer) Essential Oil Diffuser, add either, Palo Santo,  Eucalyptus Blue or Cedarwood.

Spray on your Bed Between Linen Changes: Thieves Spray

Palo Santo Oil: Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) comes from the same botanical family (Burseraceae) as frankincense, although it is found in South America rather than the Middle East. Like frankincense, Palo Santo is known as a spiritual oil, traditionally used by the Incas to purify and cleanse the spirit from negative energies. Even its Spanish name reflects how highly this oil is regarded: Palo Santo means “holy wood” or “sacred wood.” The resin forms only after the tree is down for 5 years, and this resin from which the oil is extracted, protects the tree from various parasites.*

Eucalyptus Blue Oil: Eucalyptus Blue has a fresh, invigorating aroma that supports normal breathing and soothes tense muscles. This essential oil is grown and harvested in Ecuador. This is the first form of Eucalyptus that is also anti-viral. This essential oil contains high levels of the powerful constituents eucalyptol and alpha-pinene, and follows in the same tradition as a repellent to insects.*

Cedarwood Oil: Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) has a warm, balsamic, woody aroma. It is relaxing and soothing when used for massage, and has long been used as a beneficial ingredient in cosmetic preparations for oily skin.*

Purification® Oil Blend: Purification® is a powerful blend of Therapeutic Grade A Melaleuca (Tea Tree oil); Citronella, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Lavandin and Myrtle essential oils. Purification® can be used directly on the skin to cleanse and soothe insect bites, cuts, and scrapes. When diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from environmental impurities including cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors.

Thieves Household Cleaner: Experience the wonder of Thieves® Household Cleaner, as tough stains and problem areas in your home become simple and easy to clean without using harsh or abrasive chemicals. Thieves Essential Oil is legendary as was proven at Weber State University to exhibit a kill rate of 99.96% against all airborne bacteria including MRSA, Staph, Strep, e-Coli and Toxic Black Mold. While bacteria can be dangerous, some industrial cleaners on the market pose an even larger threat to your health. Thieves Household Cleaner is a safe all-purpose “green” concentrate that can be used in every room in your home, without the harsh chemicals. Dilution ratios are listed on the label for your convenience.

Having to deal with elimination of bed bugs can be a trying experience and if you are dealing with a large infestation, you may have to call in professionals.  I hope that anyone reading this article will have success in getting rid of bed bugs, using natural ways, rather than chemicals that could be harmful to be around.  Best of luck to you, and here’s to success in having a bed bug free environment.  And remember if you are traveling to take along the Bed Bug Spray and spray down the bed and bedding.  Sure as heck won’t hurt and hopefully you will never have to deal with bed bugs.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  Testimonials:

Thieves Household Cleaner®  and Tile Grout Stain

“Something spilled on the bathroom floor which is white tile with white grout. I used Thieves cleaner and the grout in the area I scrubbed was so white I had to do the entire floor to match it up with the cleaned part. The sponge mop and Thieves got the grout a little whiter but it took a little effort with a brush to make it like new. The tile and grout are 20 years old. After using ‘store bought cleaners’ for years, one use with Thieves and the floor is like new. The best part is it’s non-toxic and costs less!” ~ Barbara K.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  as an Eyeglass Cleaner

“We have found that Thieves Household Cleaner® makes a wonderful eye glass cleaner. Just one capful to two cups of water in a spray bottle and then a couple of sprits to each lens does the trick.” ~ Carol

Thieves Household Cleaner®  for Cleaning Granite and Marble

“Thieves cleaner works wonderfully on granite or marble. My family has a cleaning service and uses it on all kinds of surfaces. It is usually mixed 2 Tblsp to 16oz of water in a spray bottle.Spray and wipe with a damp cloth and buff shiny surfaces dry with a dry towel. The trick is not to use too much concentrate in the mixture so it doesn’t leave shiny things looking oily.” ~ Jennifer

Thieves Household Cleaner®  in Steam Cleaner

“I just used the new Thieves Cleaner in my steam cleaner…about a teaspoon in the soap dispenser…then filled it with water, and my house LOOKS and SMELLS GREAT! It worked GREAT on my carpet, better, in fact than the chemical soap that came with the steam cleaner, and now I have the added benefit of THIEVES in my carpet!” ~ Jessica W.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  for Greasy Kitchen and Household Chores

“We’ve been waiting for a product like this from Young Living! Our first experience using this new household cleaner was to see if it would cut through grease on kitchen mini blinds. We were impressed! We’ve now used it in the dishwasher, on walls, countertops, toilet bowls, mirrors, windows, shower doors, and more! When our son came home last night he said, “Mom, you’re still cleaning?” Cleaning has never been so fun and just think of the health benefits of inhaling Thieves while working. It just doesn’t get any better!” ~ Linda & Merrill D.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  to Clean Carpet

“I have a beautiful home, but shortly after we moved into our home, the refrigerator stopped working. We had a repairman out to look at it, but it did not do any good. We had to replace the one in the house with another. The old fridge had to come out, but the only way to get it out was across our living room carpet! The old one was taken out and a newer one put in, then we noticed that the old fridge had left a ugly trail across our carpet! I tried everything to get it out to no avail. The stains seemed to be getting worse. This last weekend I deciding to try the Thieves cleaner with water in a sprayer bottle, I got down on the floor and sprayed a small spot and then used a small scrub brush and a clean towel to wipe it up with, WOW! The towel was black and the carpet looks great! I cleaned all the spots then let them dry and then vacuumed. I will need to go over it, but I love it, and the smell is wonderful, too! ” ~ Darlene B.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  as a Laundry Detergent and for Cleaning Carpet

“I was introduced to Young Living by my mom and I have been using a lot of their products for a while now. Anyhow I bought a bottle and when it came in I was surprised to see how small it was, so I called and asked her how was this going to save me money, (grin) and then she told me how strong it was and to use only a capful for certain things and straight for stubborn, well after experimenting this is what I came up with:

Laundry 1-2 capfuls (depending on how dirty), dishwasher- 1 1/2 capfuls, 1- capful for a 1 qt sprayer is great for fingerprints on walls and stuff, now when I do my laundry I still put in laundry soap only now I only use a 1/4 of what I did before, I measured 1/2 inch in the cup provided by them and used about the same in softener, yes I am still use (some bad things, but not as much now) oh and the suds aren’t a lot in the washer but the close are clean, I also used it straight to remove (big truck) axle grease from my rugs, I use it for just about everything. And I know my house is clean.” ~ Lynn S.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  for Car Wind Screen and Artificial House Plant Cleaning

“I have always had a problem with my wind screen on the car being dirty and residue always on it. Decided one day to add some Thieves Household Cleaner into the water reservoir and all problems resolved. Cleans windscreen amazingly!!

I also have this thing with cleaning plants (indoors) as it is such a tedious job, but now just make a spray with the Thieves in it and spray the plants and they come up amazingly. Simple, quick and no mess with the plants looking great and shiny also!! Need to see what this does for the insects and the mosquitoes in the house as well. Will be interesting!!

Yes, Thieves also keeps the mosquitoes away as well and have also found another solution for insects, spiders, etc!” ~ Gavin H.

Thieves Household Cleaner®  and Black Mold in Bathroom

“Because of the unusual wet fall, winter, and spring we have had and the leaking shower head in our bathroom, we got a lot of black mold in our shower. All of the cocking was totally black. Any cracks in the tile grout were black. The fiberglass bottom of the shower had black growth also.

A friend of mine just bought an older home. She told me how she totally cleaned the moldy shower in the house she just bought. She removed the caulking with black mold on it. She scrubbed the entire shower, then sprayed chlorine bleach all over the shower, She sprayed an extra amount where the old caulking was to make sure the mold was completely gone. She let it dry a day, then re-caulked it with new silicone caulking. She was so excited that her shower looked new again.

When she came to help me do the same with my shower, She said the only thing that will completely get rid of the black mold is chlorine bleach. She knew I didn’t want to use anything that would harm my body by breathing it in or leaving a residue in the shower.

We first removed all the caulking with a flat head screwdriver, then we tackled the cleaning job. I made up a strong solution of Thieves Cleaner. I used 3 tablespoons of Thieves Cleaner per one 32 ounce sprayer bottle of filtered water. We cleaned the entire shower with the cleaner. She was amazed that the cleaner cleaned so well. Were able to get stubborn soap scum off the tiles by spraying it with Thieves Cleaner, then scrubbing it with a #220 waterproof sandpaper. In the hard to get crack areas we used a stiff scrub brush and an old toothbrush.

After we totally cleaned the shower and washed it down, we sprayed all the areas to be caulked with Thieves Cleaner. We let the shower dry over night, then caulked it with new silicone caulking. The shower looks great!

My friend was absolutely amazed that we did not need to use chlorine bleach. She said, ‘that Thieves Cleaner is amazing. It works better than 409, Windex, and chlorine bleach. I am going to get some.’

It is exciting to know I can clean anything with Thieves Cleaner and I don’t have to jeopardize my health because of it. Thank you YOUNG LIVING.” ~ Sherry H.

Thieves Household Cleaner® and Essential Oil to Kill Mold in an Older Home

“We recently moved from California to Utah into a home that was built in the 1880′s. It wasn’t until I was deep cleaning that I realized there were some serious mold issues!!

I got some samples, had them tested and there were several strains of molds, common and not-so common. We’d moved to an area that had no other homes available for rent and I was panicked, since I’m extremely sensitive to mold, having been ‘poisoned’ by black mold about 10 years ago. There was nowhere else to go while our home is being built.

I immediately got our my Thieves Cleaner, Thieves Essential Oil, Nebulizer Essential Oil Diffuser, rubber gloves and face mask! I sprayed the Thieves Cleaner straight onto the affected areas and just left it for several hours. I began diffusing Thieves Oil – and did so for the next 48 hours [learn more about how to use these products to get rid of and prevent mold]. In the basement, where there was a lot of mildew and mold, I sprayed a mixture of Thieves Oil, Thieves Cleaner and grain alcohol directly onto the brick walls. Then I left the house to rest.

The next day when I came back, the black mold in the cupboards that had been so unsightly had almost disappeared. I sprayed the affected areas again, soaking liberally, and wiped them down after a few minutes. The mold is gone! In the basement, the same thing had happened. I re-sprayed with my mixture and it is also GONE!

I coaxed the carpet cleaner to use my Thieves Cleaner instead of his citrus stuff (which I have an allergy to!) [citrus cleaners do not have therapeutic-grade essential oils as an ingredient which is why she is allergic to them]. He reluctantly did so and was thrilled and amazed at how clean the carpets were. I was so happy, because they were disinfected, smelled great and are so soft now.

I continue to diffuse Thieves, Purification and Eucalyptus a couple of times a week. The mold issues are gone. I can breathe without any problems. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!” ~ Michelle

Buy Thieves Household Cleaner

I personally have tons of my own testimonials using Thieves Household Cleaner®, this one cleaner actually replaces any type of cleaner I once had in my house. It is the most all-natural and “Green” cleaner I have ever seen and used – I have found it to be superior over all brands. Replacing every cleaner in my home with Thieves cleaner has absolutely saved me a lot of money, particularly cheaper than buying the natural brands at the store! Would you like to know how to get Young Living Essential Oils free?  Who wouldn’t want free products? If you are interested in learning about natural products, from first aide and personal care products, household products, to nutritional products, pet care products and children’s natural care products, well you have come to the right place.

Many people are becoming more conscious of what is on the shelves in the super markets. It is so much easier to purchase natural products when one learns about a company that has such a wide variety of pure and natural products. It’s nice to know you don’t have to continually be reading the labels on products, as you can have the comfort in knowing what you are purchasing is safe for you to put on your body, put in your body and to breath in.

If you want to know which harmful synthetics are in your home, the Cleaning with Essential Oils section will teach you which chemicals are known to cause everything from skin to ovarian cancer and are in products you use every day.  Discover which essential oils and oil-infused products can replace them.

It can be daunting to live a healthier lifestyle, and one of the last areas you may think to change is your cleaning products.  It’s important to find ways to limit your exposure to these toxins, and learn about safe, effective alternatives.

Here’s a quick run-down of some common cleaning chemicals, along with some of the many places you may see them:

  • DEA (Diethanolamine)-Found in more than 600 home and personal care products, such as shampoos, conditioners, bubble baths, lotions, cosmetics, soaps, laundry and dish washing detergents. Suspected of carcinogenic activity (causing or contributing to cancer) or of being potentially dangerous or hazardous to health.
  • Propylene Glycol-The main ingredient found in anti-freeze; also common in shampoos, deodorants, cosmetics, lotions, toothpastes, processed foods, baby wipes, and many more personal care items. Implicated in contact dermatitis, kidney damage, and liver abnormalities; can inhibit skin cell growth in human tests and can damage cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin, and surface damage.
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)-Industrial uses include concrete floor cleaners, engine degreasers, and car wash detergents. Also found in shampoos, liquid soaps, conditioners, cleansers, toothpaste, and children’s personal care products. SLS is found in nearly all toothpastes, and is absorbed through skin contact and retained for up to five days.
  • Talc-Chemically similar to asbestos, talc has been inked to ovarian cancer. It’s found in many body and baby powders, as well as many cosmetics.
  • Alcohol-Most mouthwash products have a higher alcohol content than most alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, etc). Mouthwash products with alcoholic content greater than 25 percent have been linked to cancers of the mouth, tongue, and throat. Alcohol acts as a solvent inside the mouth, making tissues more vulnerable to carcinogens.

It is a simple process to switch over to buying Young Livings organic, pure and natural products.  And don’t think that essential oils can only be used for aromatherapy or massage therapy-they have so much more to offer!

Here is a list of some Young Livings products that you can switch to and begin purchasing:
