Thanksgiving meal with natural spices could be a new “twist” on preparation of your feast. The “natural spices” that are in the following recipes are food grade organic essential oils.

Recipes for Thanksgiving are fun to prepare each year and I would like to share with you some new recipe ideas to try for your Thanksgiving meal.

As everyone is seated for the beginning of your feast, take a few moments to share what you are thankful for. Many people say a prayer, some don’t. Reach to your right and to your left and hold each others hands. Be thankful for the moment and for each other and for the love that surrounds you.

Here we go!!  Why not start with a hardy cup of soup. You know how when you go to a restaurant and the first thing you are brought is soup or salad and bread? Well, let’s do the same too.

Spiced Butternut Squash Soup

  • 3 large butternut squash
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 2 drops of cinnamon oil (#3515)
  • 1 drop of nutmeg oil (#3599)
  • 4 cups water, boiling
  • 1 tablespoon Blue Agave (3221 or #3224) Read the rest of this entry »

Sacred Frankincense essential oil (seasonal 2010)Did you know that it’s very easy and within your budget to make high quality aromatherapy gifts for friends and family? For years I’ve been making everything from bath salts to perfumes to air fresheners to give as holiday gifts. I particularly enjoy the responses I get from people who are not familiar with superior quality essential oils. What I hear most often is something like… “Wow, this smells so nice, what can I do with it and how can I get more when I run out?”

One Christmas years ago I gave both of my sisters each a bottle of Thieves essential oil and Thieves Household Cleaner. The story came back to me like this… Barbara called Dorothy and said, “Did you try that Thieves Cleaner stuff yet?” Dorothy, “No, not yet. I did open it though and sniffed it. It smells fabulous! I didn’t try it yet because I don’t know what to do with it.” Barbara, “Go get your bottle and mix up a light dilution right now and clean your counter-tops. I just did my counter-tops and I can’t believe how clean they came out. Try it right now!” A few minutes later Dorothy commented, “Wow, what is this stuff!? It cleans so well!” Of course I got a phone call from them shortly afterwards, they wanted to know what this stuff called “Thieves” was.

I decided that year to give them these two Thieves products because I hated that they were still using Scrubbing Bubbles and chemical cleaners like that. As a matter of fact, Dorothy who does house cleaning for a living ended up in the hospital twice because she was having terrible trouble breathing. Yes, you guessed right. She couldn’t breathe because of her daily exposure to toxic chemical household cleaners and missed many days of work as a result. She was on the verge of stopping her cleaning business because it was hazardous to her health and she knew it. That’s why I decided to give Thieves for Christmas gifts. That was five years ago and she still has her cleaning business thanks to Thieves Household Cleaner and the other Young Living essential oils she uses at home and at work.

I need ‘you’ to help me plan the content for a special webinar!

The other reason I like to give ‘different’ types of gifts is because it makes me feel good to know that through listening to friends and family members complaints I can customize anything with my essential oils that they might need. It feels to me like I’m giving them a gift of wellness. To them, it feels like I’m giving them something they can use that empowers them and makes them feel physically and emotionally better.

What I need you to do…

On December 1st at 9pm Eastern Time I’m having a webinar on aromatherapy gifts that you too can make this holiday season. I will be teaching how you too can make a significant impact on someones life for pennies to a couple of dollars each, you can make gifts that surpass coming from the heart. Give them the gift of true caring and wellness.

Since this webinar won’t be held until December 1, 2010 there is plenty of time for you to listen closely to what your friends and family members are saying.

Listen to what they’re tired of, what they are complaining about – take note!

Do they need… inspiration, emotional balancing, relaxation, calming, nurturing, do they need to feel better about themselves, hope, happiness?

Really listen to them. Maybe ask some questions to gain a better understanding.

The reason I’m calling upon you to spend a little time discovering what they need is so that you can participate in the recipes and topics I cover in this webinar.

I want to hear from you… comment on this post and tell me what the loved ones in your life need more of, I don’t need to know the details, just enough to point me in the right direction.

This webinar is for you and the people you care about. I am here to help you help them. That is my gift to you for 2010.

Please leave a comment by clicking on the word “Comment” just below the title of this blog post.

Help me to help you make a difference in many lives this year  : )

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Have you been thinking about exploring the possible healing properties that essential oils have? Maybe you have made a trip to your local natural food store, or other stores that carry small selections of essential oils. Perhaps you have purchased some essential oils from a store, or online from a company that sells essential oils.

What has your experience been? Are you able to use any of the oils internally? Do you know the history of the company that is providing the essential oils? Do they have their own farms? Do they process the essential oils and put them through strict testing to ensure their potency and purity? It is very important to know these answers.

Why?  If you have purchased inferior or adulterated essential oils, you could very possibly have adverse reactions. This could be a “turn off” for you.  And you may decide not to use essential oils to help you towards achieving optimal health.

So what is your option? Finding a reliable, ethical company that DOES provide quality, safe essential oils, that’s what!!

Mothers Day will be here very soon, but you still have time to make a natural, healing gift, made with love and that will be so appreciated by mom.  It doesn’t take much time and only a few supplies are needed.  Plus you can make enough for gifts for others and for you to enjoy as well.

Without further ado, here are a few aromatherapy gift ideas for you:

Sea Scents Bath Salts

For thousands of years, people have traveled to places far away to bathe in natural mineral pools. Bath salts are a simple way to experience some of the same benefits in the comfort of your own bath. And when combined with the aroma of natural essential oils, the experience can be truly amazing!

Ingredients:

  1. Salt. There are many different types of salts that can be used for bath salts. Some common salts used in bath salts include Epsom salts, sea salts, or regular table salts. Also available are some naturally colored salts that can be quite stunning when used for bath salts. How course or fine the salt is depends on your personal preference, just keep in mind that courser salt will take longer to dissolve than fine salt. Some good places to check for different types of salts would be the grocery store, health food stores, pharmacies, craft stores, and the internet. You may want to check the ingredient list on any salt you get to see what (if any) ingredients have been added in case of allergies or other health concerns.
  2. Essential Oils of choice. Read the rest of this entry »

Celebrating May Day is done differently in different areas of the world. I’ll be concentrating on May Day celebration in the good ole United States.

As quoted in Wikipedia:

“May Day was celebrated by some early European settlers of the American continent. In some parts of the United States, May Baskets are made. These baskets are small and usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someones doorstep. The basket giver would ring the bell and run away. The person receiving the basket would try to catch the fleeing giver. If they caught the person, a kiss was to be exchanged.”

From as far back as I can recall, I have always been sure to bring my mother flowers to recognize her on May Day.  Many times as a young girl, I would pick flowers from my grandmothers garden and bring both my mother and my grandmother a bouquet for May Day.

“The first Lei Day was proposed in 1927 in Honolulu. Leonard “Red” and Ruth Hawk composed “May Day is Lei Day in Hawai’i,” the traditional holiday song. Originally it was a contemporary fox trot, later rearranged as the Hawaiian hula song performed today.” Read the rest of this entry »

Mothers Day is celebrated once a year and is our time to give extra special thanks and treatment to our Mothers.  It is a special day for them, and we can make any day special for them, but it is nice to have one day to focus on giving them a wonderful, loving day.

It does not have to cost a lot of money, or it can, the choice is yours to make as to what great memories are made with your mother on her day we celebrate her.

Whether you are going to shower her with extravagant gifts of jewelry, travel or fancy cars, or like most of us, giving her what we are able to in the form of our presence, or with smaller gifts, any of these loving ways will no doubt be received with great appreciation and love.

Here is a list of suggestions: Read the rest of this entry »
