German chamomile is a delicate looking plant that is surprisingly hardy. It has fern-like foliage and tiny flowers that look like miniature daisies. It can grow up to several feet in height, and is a perennial plant that spreads quite well in any garden. Both the leaves and the flowers are used for tea but the leaves are bitter compared to the flowers. German chamomile produces a dark blue, almost black colored essential oil.

The aroma of German chamomile is a sweet fragrance that may shift ones vibrational frequency to pure joy. It has anti-inflammatory and relaxing properties.

Wouldn’t it be nice to feel emotionally happy every day?  Many people are very “up” people, but they too experience “down” days.  Some of us have “down” days much more than others and this can lead to depression which can affect our lives and those around us.  Quite often when one is feeling “low”  a “pick me up” is what is needed to help them to feel better.  Unfortunately too many people reach for a pill, which is not natural, but chemically made.  Those dog gone pills can lead to other “side effects” and for some, pharmaceutical addiction.

There are so many alternatives that may be helpful, but often for those that are feeling down, the easier and the quicker one’s mood can be elevated, the better.  One quick natural alternative is with therapeutic-grade essential oils.

How can an essential oil help a person emotionally? Read the rest of this entry »

Anxiety is such a consuming part of our society, especially in these times with all of the stresses of our economy.   Stress can be the root of many ailments which we may be experiencing in our life. It is tremendously important for us to be as stress free as possible. That is not an easy task to fulfill, without some kind of help.

There are so many ways of calming our lives down.  Most importantly is to try to achieve a calm environment in a natural way, rather than with medications. Of course not all circumstances can work this way. What would be nice is if people were willing to “open the door” to experience natural ways that one may be very amazed by the results.

Prayer, meditation, yoga, soft music, walks in the outdoors, soak in the tub, time with family, friends and pets, are all “natural” ways that my be calming to you.

Another alternative suggestion is essential oil therapy. In this article you will read how essential oils are very beneficial in balancing the emotions and harmonizing anxiety. Read the rest of this entry »

Today, we live in a society of emotional turmoil. There is more focus on emotional behavior and psychological conditions of the body now than at any time in our history. Many doctors are recognizing the possibility that a number of diseases are caused by emotional problems that link back to infancy and perhaps even to the womb.

These emotional problems may have compromised our immune system or genetic structuring, causing children to become allergic to something that the mother ingested while pregnant.

Essential oils play an important role in assisting people to move beyond these emotional barriers. The aldehydes and esters of certain essential oils are very calming and sedating to the central nervous system (including both the sympathetic and para¬sympathetic systems).

These substances allow us to relax instead of letting anxiety build up in our body. Anxiety creates an acidic condition that activates the transcript enzyme which then transcribes that anxiety on the RNA template and stores it in the DNA. That emotion then becomes a predominant factor in our lives from that moment on.

When we encounter an emotionally charged situation, instead of being overwhelmed by it, we can diffuse essential oils, put them in our bath, or wear them as cologne.

The aromatic molecules will absorb into the bloodstream from the nasal cavity to the limbic system. They will activate the amygdala (the memory center for fear and trauma) and sedate and relax the sympathetic/para¬sympathetic system. Read the rest of this entry »

I love chocolate milk. I love peppermint bark. The other night it hit me – why not combine them for a special treat?

Take 8oz. of your favorite milk.

Add your favorite chocolate milk mix (include a little extra to make it thicker and richer. Blend well.

Add 1/2 to 1 drop of Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil.

Garnish with a fresh spring of peppermint for a classy look if desired

What a treat!

NOTE: Do not try this with any other brand of essential oil, they are not to be taken internally.

How to get less than a drop of essential oil.

Therapeutic-grade peppermint essential oil is an amazing oil to have on hand, it’s one of my favorites for daily use and for my natural First Aid kit. Young Living’s peppermint essential oil is powerful; just ‘one’ single drop is said to be equivalent to 28 cups of peppermint tea! So, use it sparingly.

How much does it cost to use therapeutic-grade Peppermint oil?

There are approx. 250 drops per 15ml bottle of essential oil.

The cost is 10 cents a drop at the retail price.

Note: the cost would be 24% less if you’re a wholesale customer or distributor.

The cost of using superior quality essential oils is priceless!

Have you been thinking about exploring the possible healing properties that essential oils have? Maybe you have made a trip to your local natural food store, or other stores that carry small selections of essential oils. Perhaps you have purchased some essential oils from a store, or online from a company that sells essential oils.

What has your experience been? Are you able to use any of the oils internally? Do you know the history of the company that is providing the essential oils? Do they have their own farms? Do they process the essential oils and put them through strict testing to ensure their potency and purity? It is very important to know these answers.

Why?  If you have purchased inferior or adulterated essential oils, you could very possibly have adverse reactions. This could be a “turn off” for you.  And you may decide not to use essential oils to help you towards achieving optimal health.

So what is your option? Finding a reliable, ethical company that DOES provide quality, safe essential oils, that’s what!!
