Best Essential Oils

You are currently browsing the archive for the Best Essential Oils category.

It’s only Wednesday, but your body feels like it’s Friday night, 10pm.  You’re exhausted, and everything you own hurts, from your 10 little piggies to the top of your head.  You’re  balancing your checkbook in your head, figuring out the food shopping list, and dreading the weekend cleaning and chores.  As you slip into bed, wondering if you can shut your brain off long enough to get a few hours of sleep, you realize your feet really do hurt, your back is quite sore, and your neck and shoulders are stiff as a board, holding all of your tension.  Great, now what do you do?

A full body massage would be heavenly, but it’s 10pm, so that’s not happening.  Well, if you enjoy the benefits of Young Living essential Oils, you’ve most likely got a case full of oils sitting at the ready.  Now what do you do?   A foot or hand massage is a quick,  fantastic idea, and, if you’ve got a partner or child old enough, they can give you a back, neck, head, hand or foot massage.  But, which essential oils are the best essential oils for your foot or hand massage?

My personal favorite is a foot massage, every time.  We take our feet for granted, they get us where we need to go, and then we promptly forget about them.  We carry a lot of stress in our feet, but really,  very few of us pay them any attention at all.   I can promise you, if you get a foot massage, it feels so good that it can and will relax our whole body, and you’ll want one every day.  When I’m alone, I use a tennis ball or my nubbed hand held back massager to do my feet.  Read the rest of this entry »

We all want our homes and workplaces to smell good.  We subconsciously let scents directly affect our mood.  Typically, this is a good thing, except when we are inhaling toxic cancer causing chemicals disguised as innocent air fresheners.  Many health hazards were discussed in part 2 of this series.  If you have not yet read it, I encourage you to do so before reading about the safe, organic, non toxic choices below. Read part 2 here , read part 1 here

When I became involved with Young Living Essential Oils, I was ecstatic to learn about all of the safe non toxic, chemical free air freshener choices that were now available to me!

Today, much has been theorized regarding the effects of diffusing essential oils, which can be considered similar to the aromatic smoke used by Hippocrates. It has been hypothesized that when essential oils are diffused, they can increase atmospheric oxygen by releasing oxygenating molecules into the air. Not only can essential oils increase oxygen in the atmosphere, they also increase the body’s ability to transport oxygen into the cells. The lipid-soluble structure of essential oils allows them to easily penetrate the cell membranes of the nose and enter into the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream, the oils can help transport oxygen and nutrients into the cells. Young Livings Feelings collection was designed to lift negative impressions and allow openness to new beginnings.  Everyone has experienced lasting adverse impressions that scar our inner self, prohibiting self growth and accomplishment.  “Negative experiences and ideas are recorded in our brains and locked into our memories throughout our lives.  These memories range from mild to extreme and have a profound effect on our health and happiness.  In order to become who we are intended to be, we must erase these negatives and reprogram our thoughts to make positive ideas our reality.” D. Gary Young

Before I get into this article, I’d like to remind everyone that our skin is an organ, and it is the largest organ in our body.  Additionally, a great portion, 83%, of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our bodies.  This includes chemicals we spill on ourselves or put our hands into, etc.

You clean and you clean and you clean, every day, every weekend, because we have been taught that a clean home will help keep us healthy. Because we clean so thoroughly we believe that the cleaner our home is the healthier our home is, and therefore, we are.

Then, one day we overhear a snippet on the 6 o’clock news, and we realize that the different cleaners we’ve been using in our home are most likely toxic, cancer causing and hazardous to our health, the one thing we were trying to achieve!!!!

We, John Q. Public, believe that our government and Medical monitoring agencies have out best interest at heart, and will protect us and keep us safe from harm.  Sadly, that it not the case many times.  Many of the household cleaning products we use in homes are actually health hazards.

The sad but factual truth is that many ingredients in our everyday common household cleaning products that we trust to be safe are absolutely harmful to our health. As consumers why would we want such products around us, our families, especially our children, and our pets?  I believe that this continues to occur because our monitoring and protective agencies bank on that fact that most consumers are not educated in, or aware of the hidden dangers and severe health issues, including cancer, that these popular household cleaning products present to our health. Additionally, most of us are not aware as to how pervasive, chronic, long term and life threatening these health threats are to our families and pets.  Additionally, even if you do read the label, non food products do not have to list the chemicals they use in the processing to make the chemical that you are reading the label of!

Every day we strive to live a healthy, happy and balanced life, to do the right thing by our children and family because we care about our health and our world.  Yet, right under our noses, Big Business is completely undermining our efforts to get and stay healthy by polluting our indoor air environment with toxic chemicals known to cause a multitude of health problems, including cancer.  They trick us into thinking we are making a healthier choice by adding a key word to their product like “natural”, or an ingredient we perceive to mean it’s safe and healthy like “orange” or “lemon”, etc.

DON’T LET THEM FOOL YOU!

Adding Orange to poison still makes it poison.

Adding 1 “natural” ingredient to poison still makes it poison.

Here are some basic facts most people are not aware of:

FACT:  Within 26 seconds after exposure to chemicals, in this case cleaning products , traces of these chemicals can be found in every organ in our body.

FACT: According to theAmericanCollegeof Medical Toxicology, use of household cleaners containing toxic chemicals should be discontinued whenever possible.  Read the rest of this entry »

Chris Packer, a Young Living farm manager, with Gary Young checking the worm grow beds to see the growth rate; the finished worm castings are mixed with compost for fertilizer and foliage feed for the plants grown on the Young Living farms, the plants that produce essential oils for us. This is just one  sustainable and organic practice that makes Young Living a top quality organic operation.Young Living Farm Worm Casting Beds

Why something like worm beds and other practices are important to know is because over our lifetime what we do today greatly determines our health in the future, which can save money in health care costs. First, we need to know the nuts and bolts, what has changed, what’s being done, and what we can do about it. Here are some examples that can help us make better choices in selecting which company(s) produce foods and products that we can feel good about buying. Let’s start with something Dr. Mercola writes to bring things into perspective:

Dr. Mercola writes;

“[one example] is Stonyfield Farm yogurt, which abandoned its organic farm in New Hampshire long ago and now gets its milk in powdered form. Yes, you read that correctly:

Powdered milk exported from 9,000 miles away in New Zealand.

You can bet your bottom dollar making powder out of milk is one of the worst things you can to do to it after pasteurization. Nearly all of the biologic value of the milk is removed.  Read the rest of this entry »

Lavender Bath & Shower GelRelax your body and rejuvenate your mind with a soothing bath of nature’s finest lavender essential oil in this bath & shower gel. All-natural ingredients work to refresh and condition your skin as you unwind from your busy day.

Lavender essential oil has been beloved and treasured for thousands of years as one of nature’s greatest gifts for healing. Recorded usage of lavender dates back to Biblical times where it was used for bathing as well as a key ingredient in many of the most effective remedies of that time.

Today, lavender essential oil is used in many skin care products, however, many companies dilute the oil, or use synthetically altered versions. The products in Young Living’s Lavender Signature Series contain only the finest Young Living Therapeutic Grade (YLTG) lavender essential oil, ensuring the maximum benefits of lavender oil are delivered.

The methods used to distill lavender essential oil thousands of years ago are the very same methods we use today to distill our superior quality essential oils.

Lavender for Emotional Wellness

  • University Miami researchers found that inhalation of lavender oil increased beta waves in the brain, suggesting heightened relaxation. It also reduced depression and improved cognitive performance (Diego et al., 1998).
  • A 2001 Osaka Kyoiku University study found that lavender reduced mental stress and increased alertness (Motomura et al., 2001).

How to Use Lavender Bath & Shower Gel

Pour directly into the water for a luxurious bubble bath, or drop a quarter-sized amount onto a bath sponge and lather. To continue your lavender experience, apply Young Living’s Lavender Body Lotion after your bath.

Vibrant, beautiful skin has always been considered an important part of health. But in today’s modern environment, soft, smooth, flawless skin can be difficult to achieve and even more challenging to maintain. Your skin’s health is largely determined by diet, lifestyle habits, and sun exposure, which can sabotage healthy skin and leave lasting effects on skin strength, resiliency, and appearance.

Therapeutic essential oils offer pure, potent plant remedies for the skin and have been used since ancient times for a number of skin care needs. The addition of Melaleuca (tea tree oil) in this serum can prevent the recurrence of breakouts and blemishes. As the leader in the essential oil industry, Young Living recognizes the many benefits of essential oils and has always promoted the use of pure essential oils as an important part of any skin care regimen.
