Everyday OilsThis is just a small sampling of the hundreds of uses of Young Living Essential Oils. I’ve been using essential oils for nearly everything for the past 26 years, I wouldn’t trade them for anything!

The savings is terrific too! Notice in this small sampling of uses that the same essential oil can be used in different ways. This saves money as well as space in my cabinets. I love it! More money is saved by becoming a wholesale customer too.

75 Ways to Use Young Living Essential oils

1. Scented candles.

Light an unscented candle, blow out after a few minutes. Add your chosen YL essential oil to the melted wax in the center. Do not add essential oil while candle is lit as the essential oils are volatile.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

I want to share my testimonial with those who are interested in the many ways therapeutic-grade essential oils can be used for wellness. Recently I moved and found myself lifting and carrying far more heavy items than I should have been. Low and behold, everything moved and unpacked, I picked up a heavy cooler… a few hours later I was in agony. My lower back, left side, and butt cheek muscle were in very bad pain. Rather than consult my Essential Oils Desk Reference or use the oils I normally would I went by my gut feeling and tried a different combination and had terrific results. Back pain.

The combination of Young Living Essential Oils I used:

6-8 drops Ginger essential oil
5-6 drops Jasmine essential oil
5-6 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil
1 tbsp. V-6 massage oil

Within 20 minutes the pain subsided nicely, enough so I could get up and do things again, I did avoid moving anything heavy. The next day the same essential oils were applied again and more pain disappeared. The third day, even though I really didn’t have much pain I still massaged the combination in again. By day 4 I was absolutely pain-free and back to doing my normal things again.

About one week later though I carried two very heavy large bags of trash out and the same spot on my lower back, left side right down to my butt cheek, began hurting badly again. Applying the same combination of oils again brought relief within 20 minutes. Following up the next two days again did the trick.

Young Living Peppermint Essential OilI think the most fascinating thing about therapeutic-grade essential oils is how versatile they are. Take Peppermint for example, this one essential oil can actually take the place of several individual products. I’ve found this to make a lot of sense in terms of cost and efficacy. It costs a lot less to use an essential oil than a store bought product. And I personally have found essential oils to be superior to all over-the-counter products. An added bonus is that one small bottle requires far less space inboth the medicine cabinet and First Aid Kit!

The cost for a 15ml bottle of Young Living Peppermint essential oil is $19.75 wholesale. Since we use our therapeutic-grade essential oils by the drop that means most applications cost pennies. A drop of Peppermint oil costs 0.079 cents – that’s a bargin compared to the alternatives. It’s particularly a bargin if you prefer to use organic, natural products. If you haven’t switched over yet I highly recommend doing so, you will save so much money and you will also have the peace of mind knowing that a bunch of chemicals are not included!

Note: These tips ONLY refer to Young Living Essential Oils. Do NOT substitute these tips with other brands as the quality is not the same and may cause harm.

30 Ways To Use Therapeutic-grade Peppermint Essential Oil

  1. Rub 4-6 drops in the palm and rub over stomach and around the navel to relieve indigestion, flatulence and diarrhea.
  2. Add a drop of Peppermint oil to herbal tea to aid in digestion and relieve heartburn.
  3. Massage several drops of Peppermint oil with V-6 Massage Oil on the area of injury to reduce inflammation. Do NOT apply to open wounds.
  4. Apply Peppermint oil immediately to an injured area (bruised shin, hit on the foot or hand) to relieve pain. If there is a cut, apply the Peppermint oil around (not on) the open wound. Read the rest of this entry »

Peppermint essential oilPeppermint has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma. One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion, it may also restore digestive efficiency.* Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint’s supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientists have also researched peppermint’s role in improving taste and smell when inhaled. Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint’s ability to improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied peppermint’s ability to directly affect the brain’s satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals. This powerful essential oil is often diluted with a carrier oil, such as V-6 Massage Oil, before topical application. Peppermint may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Peppermint essential oil is an energizing oil with a penetrating, minty aroma that helps to relieve both mental and physical fatigue. Use it in the daytime, as its energizing effect may keep you awake at night.

34 Tips for Using Peppermint Essential Oil:

  1. Curb Appetite: Alan Hirsch, M.D., studied peppermints ability to directly affect the brains satiety center, which triggers a sense of fullness after meals. Inhale the fragrance (directly from the bottle) to curb appetite and lessen the impulse to overeat.
  2. Upset Tummy: Rub 2 drops over stomach/ around navel with 1 teaspoon V-6 Massage Oil (a carrier oil), this may help to relieve indigestion, flatulence, and diarrhea.*
  3. Keep Mice Out of Your Car: Peppermint essential oil is fantastic to have in your antique or “summer” car to keep the mice out. Smells much better than the commonly used remedy of Mothballs. Take a few cotton balls and place several drops of Peppermint oil on them and leave cotton balls in the car; you may want to refresh the cotton balls once every month or two.  Read the rest of this entry »

Head and Face MassageMassage therapy has been shown to have a wide array of benefits. From anxiety reduction and pain relief to improved circulation, the therapeutic effects of touch promote all aspects of wellness. Essential oils further support the benefits of massage therapy by enabling targeted aromatic and topical relief. Certain oil collections, like Young Living’s Raindrop Technique®, combine the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex—rolling and releasing motions that activate the reflex points—and massage.

When working on a large area, such as the back or in a full body massage, mix 4-6 drops of the selected essential oil with 1 TBSP V-6 Massage Oil (a fine carrier). Keep in mind that some massage oils/carrier oils can stain some fabrics, V-6 will not.

Topical application of these specific oils to various areas of the body brings balance and harmony while fostering a truly holistic wellness experience.

Layering

This technique consists of applying multiple oils one at a time, one at a time. For example, place a couple drops of marjoram over a sore muscle, massage it into the tissue gently until the area is dry, and then apply a second oil, such as peppermint (a couple drops), until the oil is absorbed and the skin is dry. Then layer on the third oil, such as basil (a couple drops), and continue massaging. Have your V-6 handy to use as your carrier oil to dilute your essential oils. If you’re new to Young Living essential oils, allow enough time (3-5 minutes) for the body to respond before applying a second oil, apply V-6 with each essential oil as a carrier oil.
