While attending massage therapy school I quickly learned that not only does massage feel good but it can help alleviate a variety of maladies, from stress to pain.
Many diseases originate with people’s inability to deal with stress. While stress is a normal part of life in this fast-paced world, massage can help manage stress.
Massage reduces the heart rate and blood pressure, improves blood circulation, enhances immunity by stimulating lymph flow- the body’s natural defense system, lessens depression and anxiety, relieves migraine pain, increases joint flexibility, and so much more!
Therapeutic massage does for the body what a tune-up does for a car. Yet, are we focusing more on the regular tune-up of our cars than we are in taking care of our body?
When I look back at what I used to spend my money on I’m appalled at how much money I wasted on things that weren’t contributing to my health. Rather, I was focusing on things that would affect the outward appearance. I’m not suggesting that we should stop buying nice clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc. I’m suggesting that if we focus on spending our money first and foremost on those things which benefit our health, we’ll feel good in whatever we’re wearing!
You certainly don’t need to be a massage therapist to offer healing touch to friends and family. In my opinion these are the things you need: a giving heart, willing hands, and a great bottle essential oils! Young Living Essential oils are therapeutic-grade and they contain pure, unadulterated essential oils.
Oils vs. lotions for massage. I personally prefer oils over lotions. Primarily for their therapeutic benefits, but also because oils are warmer upon application. Lotions, which are water- based, create a cold sensation when applied. I think it’s safe to say that most people prefer warmth when receiving a massage!
