Essential oils are both mysterious and miraculous. They are so complex and contain hundreds – or even thousands of different chemical compounds/constituents, and to date no essential oil has had all of its compounds identified.  They can contain an infinite combination of alcohols, esters, aldehydes, ethers, ketones, acids, phenols, and terpenes.

The chemical composition and aroma of essential oils may provide valuable psychological and physical therapeutic benefits. These benefits are usually achieved through methods including inhalation, internally, or application of essential oils either “neet”, on the skin, or the use of a carrier oil with the essential oil applied to the skin. (Read more on “How to Use”)

Essential oils are aromatic volatile liquids distilled and extracted from many parts of a plant including, but not limited to, the stems, roots, branches, fruits, flowers, seeds, roots, bark, needles, oleo-gum resins and leaves. The key to producing a therapeutic-grade essential oil is to preserve as many of the delicate aromatic compounds within the essential oil as possible.

Essential oils are highly concentrated and far more potent than dried herbs. Essential oils are also different from vegetable oils such as corn oil, peanut oil, and olive oil.  They are not greasy and do not clog the pores like many vegetable oils can.

Essential oils and human blood share several common properties:  They fight infection, contain hormone-like compounds, and initiate regeneration.  Essential oils have a chemical structure that is similar to that found in human cells and tissues.  This makes essential oils compatible with human protein and enables them to be readily identified and accepted by the body. Aspartame is a useless, poison that is in most “sugar free” products and may cause harm to ones health.  This chemical toxin should never been approved by our government to be put in as an additive to foods for sweetening.  Oh yeah, it is free of calories, so that must be good right? I hope you answered no!!

So we don’t really have control of what our government does, but we do have control of what we do for ourselves and our loved ones.  Time to jump on the “rid our lives of aspartame” band wagon, there is plenty of room, so come on up!!

Go to your cupboards and refrigerator, pull out anything that says “sugar free”. Read the label and if it has aspartame as an “ingredient”, toss it and replace it with a healthier item.  This may be a daunting task at first, but it is do-able and you will feel so much better physically and mentally.

If you eat yogurt, replace the “fruity” ones with plain (like Greek) yogurt. To the yogurt add a drop of Orange essential oil, Lemon essential oil or Tangerine essential oil and your own fresh fruit and Stevia (natural herb). Read the rest of this entry »

Hot flashes come on without warning, are so uncomfortable and are an unwelcome intense internal and external heat to a woman.  Those that have them in their daily lives wish they would just go away.  It can even give one a feeling of embarrassment because of the sweating and how the skin becomes very red.

Towards  the end of 1999 I began having these awful symptoms. Lo and behold my doctor wanted to put me on birth control pills, as this is may be a way of lessening the symptoms of menopause. She gave me the prescription, I never got it filled.  I did not want to “mask” my symptoms or have the possible side effects from taking birth control.

I began researching natural alternative therapies and came up with a solution that worked for me.  What I found was tofu, almond soy milk, fruit and a banana or stevia to sweeten, blended together in a smoothie type drink, not only tasted yummy, but within 3 days my hot flashes stopped completely.  I kept drinking the drink for about a month once a day and have never had another hot flash.

I’ve shared this story with many women, along with another natural therapy, Progessence Plus.  Read the rest of this entry »

Cholesterol and high blood pressure are a problem in so many peoples lives or the lives of their loved ones.  Many people are prescribed pharmaceutical  drugs. Drugs that are widely advertised on television and costly.  The drugs are meant to help manage the problem, and in most cases they do.  Like most drugs, the drug use is not to cure the problem, rather it is to put a “band-aide” effect over the situation.

The way that has helped my mother with her cholesterol and high blood pressure and improvement towards better health is, natural, organic, antioxidant solution of NingXia Red. (Read more on NingXia Red).

NingXia Red combines the finest whole Ningxia wolfberry puree, blueberries, pomegranate, apricot, raspberries, red grapes, and lemon and orange essential oils. It’s the synergy of ingredients that help to make NingXia Red stand above all the others.

When a bottle of NingXia Red reaches your hands it is still bursting with excellent natural flavor and contains the specially handled wolfberry ‘puree’ – not an over-processed juice. Young Living uses a processing technique called “Nutritent Guard” which captures the natural goodness of the NingXia wolfberry, which includes the water-soluble plant pigments that give them their unique reddish-orange color: flavonoids, carotenoids, polyphenols, and anthocyanidins. Rich in antioxidants, the therapeutic benefits of these compounds are carefully preserved in this proprietary procedure and are guaranteed in every bottle of NingXia Red.

Mom has been on medication for both cholesterol and high blood pressure for many years, and in the last 8 months her medications have been greatly reduced.  I feel VERY strongly that NingXia Red may have played a huge part in this reduction. She drinks 2 ounces a day.

Eight months ago both drugs were reduced to half of the original prescribed amount, along with her water pill being eliminated.  A few weeks ago her blood pressure medication was cut in half again.  She may be off of all medications in the future.  What a tremendous gift of giving her longevity to her life!!

Thanks be to Gary Young and Young Living Essential oil for providing the world with such outstanding wellness products.  My household will never be without them.

Short but sweet…May all who desire to, rid their cupboards of medications by discovering healthier and truly natural alternatives to better their health, and the health of people they know and love.

What is Your Passion for New Year 2011 and beyond? Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out exactly what ones passion are, but when you do, moving forward and living with passion can be so very rewarding.

To get started, take the time to be “quiet”, whether this in a private place in your home, out in nature or in a spiritual environment.

Have some paper and pen and begin with writing what is your passion or passions. Everyone has a passion in them, no matter how big or small to others, it is our very own passion.

Now that you have written down what your passion or passions are, begin to note what you can do to begin to bring your passion to fruition.  Not too many things in life happen immediately, the key is taking the first step to move towards whatever ones goal may be.

When I begin this process I apply essential oils and diffuse them, or have Frankincense resin burning. Three of my favorite essential oil blends for this are: Live With Passion, Magnify Your Purpose and Believe. Of course one of my passions is sharing Young Living essential oils and the wonderful healing properties they have. Read the rest of this entry »

Young Living clove, cinnamon and nutmeg essential oils are FDA approved food grade essential oils. Not only can you use these essential oils to cook with but they are also beneficial for many medicinal purposes.

Clove essential oil:

Historical Data: The people on the island of Ternate were free from epidemics until the 16th century, when Dutch conquerors destroyed the clove trees that flourished on the islands. Many of the islanders died from the epidemics that followed.

Cloves were reputed to be part of the “Marseilles Vinegar” or “Four Thieves Vinegar” used by grave-robbing bandits to protect themselves during the 15th century plague.

Clove was listed in Hildegard’s Medicine, a compilation of early German medicines by highly-regarded Benedictine herbalist Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179).

Healers in China and India have used clove buds since ancient times as part of their treatments.

Eugenol, clove’s principal constituent, was used in the dental industry for years to numb gums. Read the rest of this entry »
