Helichrysum Essential Oil Testimonials and Tips

Helichrysum essential oilHelichrysum (pronounced hel-a-chris-um) essential oil is one of my favorite essential oils for first aid purposes. Helichrysum is well-known for use on all manner of wounds and oftentimes it can prevent scaring.

Helichrysum essential oil is known for its anticoagulant, anesthetic, anti-spasmodic, liver protectant/detoxifying/stimulant properties, and for helping to regenerate nerves. And is often used for herpes, artiosclerosis, hypertension, blood clots, liver disorders, circulatory disorders, and skin conditions such as; eczema, psoriasis scar tissue and varicose veins.

Helichrysums’ fragrant influence is uplifting to the mind.

Helichrysum and Dog Bite Wound

I know about Helichrysum and scaring for sure! When a Husky bit me and left four very deep, large puncture wounds each the diameter of a pencil in my arm! I used my Thieves essential oil, one drop in each of the four holes 4 times a day, followed by one drop of Helichrysum in each hole 4 times a day; to prevent infection and promote healing.

Other than putting a new clean bandage on my arm also four times a day and keeping my arm dry when showering,  I did nothing else.

The Thieves was the essential oil I used to prevent infection, while the Helichrysum was used to repair the damage done to my skin and to prevent scaring.

The four dog fang holes in my arm never got infected, no puss, no bleeding either. And all four holes were completely healed within one month.

I wanted to see if in fact Helichrysum actually did promote the prevention of scars so after 3 weeks of getting the dog bite I continued to apply the Thieves and stopped putting the Helichrysum on one of the holes just so I could see for my own eyes if it would actually do what everyone claimed.

Well, it absolutely did work!

My friends, who were with me when I got bit by the dog couldn’t believe how fast the huge holes were healing. My boyfriend also couldn’t believe his eyes. They, and me too, also couldn’t believe their eyes a couple of weeks later when we could not find any trace of scar from the three holes but could clearly see the scar on the hole I stopped applying the Helichrysum on – stunning results!

Since then I have always kept two bottles of Helichrysum in my essential oil first aid kit because it is also known to stop bleeding and this is one essential oil that I never want to be without when an injury strikes. I love Helichrysum oil!!! ~ Evelyn Vincent

Abscessed Root Canal

“My experience with YLEO and dental was an abscessed root canal, of course I was written a script for antibiotics, which is still in the cupboard. I took a capsule of oregano ( for the infection ) one of geranium ( for inflammation) followed up every four hours repeat topping each capsule off with a couple drops of Helichrysum or lemon. I did this the first day, the second day I did it every 6 hours, the third day I was fine swelling was gone, pain was gone. I Took the ‘caps’ for another day or so just to make sure, so all together three days, four at the most compared to 7 on antibiotics, and the bonus is ‘no yeast infection’ which I always got upon taking antibiotics.” ~ W. S.

Arteries

“One client saw blockage in the carotid arteries reduce from 40% to 13% with these oils (Aroma Life, Thieves, Helichrysum and Cypress). I have used them for nearly 6 years over my heart and on the neck and two recent tests showed ZERO blockage in my large arteries and small blood vessels including the carotid arteries on the neck which carry oxygen to the brain”. ~ Debra Raybern

“Here is some great info on broken bones. I broke a rib and man that is painful as any broken bone can be. Anyway I used BLM, MegaCal, and topically PanAway, Idaho Balsam Fir, lemongrass, helichrysum, and NeuroGen. My rib healed in 3 weeks instead of eight weeks when I broke them first time way before the Young Living.” ~ Nancy S.

Aroma Life Blend

“For issues of high blood pressure and/or elevated cholesterol, the blend, ‘AROMA LIFE,’ created by Gary Young has been used with amazing results. This blend includes cypress, helichrysum, marjoram, and ylang ylang. Cypress improves circulation and lymphatic drainage. It reduces edema and strengthens the vascular system. Helichrysum has properties which assist in reducing blood viscosity if there is an imbalance. It also reduces plaque deposits from the veins and arteries. Marjoram helps regenerate smooth muscle tissue and assists in relieving muscle spasms. It calms nervous tension and has diuretic-like action. Ylang ylang has been used traditionally to balance heart function and high blood pressure.

This blend can be diffused, directly inhaled, and applied over the heart and first to fourth thoracic vertebrae, which correspond to the cardiopulmonary nerves [on the back, behind the heart]. It can also be diluted in vegetable oil and used for full body massage.” ~ Frances

Nursing Mother & Thrush

“I am a nursing mother and have used geranium and helichrysum applied neat to my nipples followed by Animal Scents Ointment to combat thrush, and have used Animal Scents Ointment to help treat sore nipples, heal diaper rash and prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.” ~ A. Cornn

Bleeding Scab

“I just used helichrysum oil a couple of nights ago night to stop the bleeding when I ripped a scab off an old wound that hadn’t healed yet. Part of it was sticking up so I just had to give it a tug.

Several oils I will always keep well stocked for whatever emergency might come up: lavender, peppermint, Valor, Trauma Life, PanAway, Thieves, Peace & Calming, Christmas Spirit, Joy, Purification, lemon, helichrysum and Melrose. I have many others I like to keep on hand but these are the ones I make sure I never run out of.” ~ Melody K.

Cut by Hedge Trimmer

“I nearly cut the end of my finger off with electric hedge trimmers a few months ago. The blades went right through the leather gloves I was wearing and almost down to the bone.

I poured lemon oil over the bleeding cut while my husband searched the house for the one bottle of Helichrysum I had stowed away in case of emergency. The Helichrysum got the bleeding stopped and we could see that it had ripped through the skin and left a pretty jagged edge.

We made a splint for the finger to keep it immobile, as much as possible. Fortunately, it was my left hand and I am right-handed.

I mixed:

  • 10 drops of Helichrysum
  • 10 drops of PanAway
  • 10 drops Melrose
  • 10 drops Gentle Baby

in an empty bottle I had saved that had once held Helichrysum.

I also made another blend that was 10 drops each of Frankincense, Myrrh, PanAway and Lavender.

Then alternated between these two blends every 2 hours. Never went to the hospital or the doctor.

Because it had been cut with dirty hedge-trimmers, I decided to take a “00″ capsule with 10 drops Thieves, 4 drops Frankincense, and 2 drops Oregano, just as protection against infection. Took that every 2-3 hours the first 24 hours, then 3 times a day for a couple of days. Never had any problem with infection at all.

Today, there are just 2 little bumps that indicate anything had ever happened. I have regained all feeling in the finger. It works just as good as ever with no pain at all. It took just about a month to heal completely. I don’t seem to remember to put Gentle Baby on it every day, now that it has healed, but that would probably get rid of the 2 little raised spots of scar tissue. They are so small now, and don’t bother me, so it isn’t a priority in my day.

I showed the finger to a friend who is an emergency room nurse and was told I had saved myself between $2,000 and 5,000 by using my oils. I love these oils. They are the best.” ~ Jacqui C.

Tendonitis

This has worked for my tendonitis and for several other people I have given it to.?In a 15 ml amber glass bottle I mix the following Young Living Essential Oils:

  • 3 drops helichrysum
  • 3 drops black pepper
  • 3 drops Bergamot
  • 3 drops Geranium
  • 5 drops Idaho Balsam Fir
  • 5 drops Lemongrass
  • 3 drops Hyssop
  • 3 drops Blue Tansy
  • 3 drops Pine
  • 3 drops Myrtle

Then I fill the bottle with V-6 Massage Oil. This is applied to the area where the pain is and followed with a layer of Peppermint oil. This can be done several times per day. If a sensitivity develops, stop using it for a few weeks.” ~ J.S.
