Essential Oil Recipe to Stop Poison Ivy Itching

Essential Oil Recipe to Stop Poison Ivy ItchingChamomile essential oil

  • 1 cup cold water
  • ¼ cup cider vinegar
  • 9 drops Lavender essential oil (#3575)
  • 3 drops Peppermint essential oil (#3614)
  • 3 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca arternafolia) (#3587)
  • 2 drops Roman Chamomile essential oil (#3512)

Place all ingredients in plastic bowl and mix well, cover with a tight sealing lid. This blend is great to keep cool in your refrigerator. Soak a washcloth in this solution to gently apply to area of skin with the poison ivy.

Tip: NEVER scrub skin or use hot water on skin that has been exposed to Poison Ivy, instead very gently use luke warm or cool water and soap (such as Young Living’s Geranium-Melaleuca Bar Soap) to wash the area, then apply (using a dabbing motion with the washcloth) the above essential oil recipe to the area.

Poison Ivy Testimonial Using Thieves Toothpaste

“When fighting poison ivy a few months ago, my sister suggested making a lotion with baking soda. That’s when I tried Dentarome [Thieves Toothpaste #3737]… worked great! Better than the store-bought pink lotion. Forms a crusty, white patch that stays on overnight. Dentarome: 3-in-1 product — toothpaste, deodorant [yes, many use it as a deodorant too, and swear by it!], poison ivy reliever. Have fun experimenting.” ~ Caleb
