Lavender and Purification Oils for Bee Sting PainLavender essential oil

“Immediately after I was stung by a wasp on my index finger I ran inside and put some Purification on it. I could feel the venom rushing up my hand so I grabbed the Essential Oil Desk Reference and it said to use Lavender. As soon as I put the Lavender on the sting, the pain stopped almost instantly. Since Purification had worked great in the past on other bug bites and bee stings, I thought it would work best for the wasp sting, but in this case, the Lavender was better!” ~ Reonne

Lavender and Lemongrass Oils as a  Bed Linen Spray

“I mix equal parts of lemongrass and lavender essential oil (3 drops each in a 3-oz. spray bottle) with 2.5 oz. of water to refresh bedding, clothes, and upholstered furniture. I find it refreshes; eliminates stale, lingering odors; and leaves a fresh scent that is both uplifting and relaxing at the same time.” ~ Sandra M.

Peppermint and Lavender Oils for Throbbing Toe Pain

“I know you must get thousands of emails like this, however, once again it blows me away at how quickly these oils work. I dropped a very sharp point of a vacuum on my middle toe. My toe was absolutely throbbing and was starting to swell quite considerably.  P for pain it was,  so on went the Peppermint oil (a couple of drops). My toe became very black, so for about 3 hours or so I kept putting on Peppermint oil. That night on went the Lavender oil. My toe had one more massive throb after the Lavender oil went on. No swollen toe, no lost toe nail and no pain. In fact it is hard to see where I actually damaged the toe. Thank you – these two oils are an absolute must!!!” ~ Sandra

Keep Lavender Oil in the Kitchen for First Aid

“I keep lavender essential oil in the kitchen at all times. I am known for being a bit clumsy or forgetful! I have lost count the amount of times I have used lavender straight onto fat burns and spits, steam and vapour burns and many other little burning incidents. My blisters and pain have simply disappear! I have found that it assists in taking the sting out of many ant bites that join in on the picnic. Great to put on the back of the neck and temples when you have a cold or headache. My very favourite essential oil! ciao,” ~ Georgie

Lavender Oil for Hot Water Burn

“I have just been reading other people’s burn stories and I thought I would share mine with you. Last year I was defrosting the fridge and to help it along I was throwing hot water straight from the kettle into the freezer (incredibly stupid I know). The water came back and hit the left side of my face, burning the entire left side. I quickly put a cold compress on, I could not read my book so I phoned the woman who put me onto the wonderful oils, and she advised me to use Lavender.  I did as she suggested and kept applying, it did take a few days but I kept applying and then it was gone completely.  The skin where I was burnt is a little tight but there is no scarring. Now whenever I get burns from cooking I use Lavender oil.” ~ Lynn

Lavender Oil for Sunburn

“In addition to the hot water scalding, our family recently went to Hamilton island for 10 days. The kids were fine but the wife and I got sunburn despite having put 30+ sunscreen on. I had my oils of course, and one of them was Lavender.  I applied it liberally. My wife chose the moisturizer alternative….well, she peeled but I haven’t!  I’ve actually retained my tan and skin!” ~ Christos

Lavender Oil for Allergic Reaction After Tornado

“We live in Oklahoma. We had just had a big tornado come through and trees were down. Our church youth group was asked to go to another town to help cut up trees and move them.

I don’t know what was in those trees, but my children got severe allergic reactions to the pollen or whatever it was. Itchy, watery eyes. It was not good. Luckily I had lavender with me. I rubbed some down their noses and across their cheekbones. I also shared my oil with several others who were in similar distress. Lavender oil saved the day and they were able to get the job done.” ~ Letitia

Lavender Oil for Allergy Itchy Eyes

“At times I get allergy symptoms with itchy eyes, congestion etc. I massage a drop of Lavender into the back of my neck, on my ears, and sometimes above my brow and on my sinuses (being careful to avoid the eyes) and within minutes the symptoms subside. I LOVE Lavender!” ~ Rita

Lavender Oil for Leg Cramps

“I’ve shared your July article about lavender EO with many friends. Very informative. Thank you. I don’t think it mentions cramps. From somewhere, maybe from you in another article I heard that Lavender is great for muscle cramps.

Last week I spend 11 hours sewing pillow cases for a shelter. By hour 9 my hands and fingers were cramping up badly. I put a couple of drops of lavender on my hand and rubbed as if I was using hand lotion. Within 5 minutes I was back to sewing and finished the project without further cramping. Victoria and another friend used it for a leg cramp and others for feet. It works fast and lasts. Thanks again,” ~ Susan K.

Lavender and Frankincense Oils for Depression

“I have had problems with depression and anxiety for much of my life. I discovered that using 1 part Lavender to 2 parts Frankincense is very helpful for moments of particular discomfort. I put the mixture on the bottoms of my feet, on my chest, wrists, ears, back of neck, and the palms of my hands. Then, I cup my hands over my nose and mouth and breathe deeply for several minutes. The unpleasant mood changes to a balanced feeling. My confidence increases and I feel like talking to others (a feeling that disappears when depressed). This relief lasts for a couple of hours.” ~ Elisa M., Psychologist

Lavender Oil for Burn

“Recently I had a more severe burn as coconut oil popped out of a sizzling frying pan and landed on my hand on the soft flesh between my thumb and forefinger. I could it was a deep burn and I wasn’t sure the lavender would take care of it. I applied lavender and had to keep reapplying it, as the pain was intense. I even applied it the next day.

Then on the 2nd day after the burn, I noticed a little blister higher up on my thumb. I had not even felt pain there at the time of the burn, so hadn’t applied the oil there. While I wouldn’t choose to have a blister, it was so fun to see how effective the lavender was, as the pain was already gone from the area that was deeply burned with no evidence of a burn.

I have used lavender for so many burns over the years and I am always impressed. Whether burned in the kitchen, on the iron or curling iron, or by the sun, lavender always brings relief. I used to always get little blisters that would turn to scabs and slowly heal. Now if I get a burn, I usually apply the lavender one time and never think about it again as the pain goes away and there’s no blister.” ~ Kristi

Lavender Oil for Many Purposes

“I always carry lavender in my purse. No matter what the problem, lavender seems to help. I have arthritis and fibro, so I rub it on my painful & numb feet, any sore muscles, my thumbs, knees, shoulders & neck. It helps for relaxation too – I put a drop under my nose or on my earlobes. For a cut or burn, lavender aids in healing (for cold sores too.) If I have any problem and am not sure what oil to use… I depend on my lavender.” ~ Darlene

Lavender Oil for Hot Fudge Burn

“I have used Lavender for many different challenges (good night’s sleep, drippy nose and especially burns).

While making myself a Hot Fudge Sundae one day, I accidentally tipped the jar slightly and hot, bubbly fudge sauce coated all four fingers of my left hand.

The pain was unbelievable. I immediately rinsed off the fudge with cold water. Then grabbed my bottle of Lavender and put a couple drops on each finger and massaged it in. Almost, immediate relief. Two hours later I repeated the Lavender and went to bed. In the morning, all four fingers showed no signs of a burn. The skin was not pink or tight with movement. I will always keep a bottle of Lavender in the kitchen for burns and cuts and, of course, one bottle in the bedroom for a peaceful sleep. Thank you for letting me share!” ~ Christine

Lavender Oil for Eye Sty and Itchy Eyes

“After the birth of my daughter I would wake up 5, 6 or even more times a night to nurse. Because of my sleep deprivation I would rub my eyes and was constantly getting a sty in one of my eyes. They were very painful and would last at least a week each time. I decided to try lavender on the bridge of my nose and on the bony part of the eye just before bed next time a sty appeared, and it was gone when I woke up the next morning. That has happened twice.

Also, my husband suffers from itchy eyes, and the lavender applied to him the same was as mentioned above gave him GREAT RELIEF.” ~ Natalie

NOTE: Never put any essential oil into the eye!

If any essential oil should get into your eyes do NOT dilute with water – USE A CARRIER OIL SUCH AS V-6 MASSAGE OIL OR OLIVE OIL TO DILUTE.
