You’ve just been diagnosed with multiple Chemical sensitivity, also called MCS. You’re not really sure what MCS means, let alone how you got it, or where you can go for proper treatment. Or, you know you’ve been sick for awhile, and no doctor seems to be able to give you an answer as to what’s wrong, so, you’re left on your own to try and figure out what is wrong with you. This article is designed to provide you with a list of medical resources regarding the disease Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. “According to “National Geographic,” studies, various chemicals from our foods and environment that indicate man contributes 700,000 tons of pollutants into the air every day, ranging from everyday household cleaners to cosmetics and hair dyes “One new chemical enters industrial use every 20 minutes,” says Paula Baillie-Hamilton, MD, only to join many hundreds of thousands of synthetic chemicals already in use. “As a result, the average person living in the developed world is now contaminated with up to 500 industrial toxins, few of which have been properly tested for harmful effects.” Indeed, the US has only recently begun long-term research to establish a baseline for toxins in a portion of our population. Five percent of the 1,007 women in one such study had troubling levels of polychlorinated biphenyl (or PCB 188), which has been linked to breast cancer and weight gain.” Toxic Overload Book.
Toxic ingredients are in almost everything in your home, regardless of whether or not the label says “green” or “all natural”, which are very deceiving words often put on the label to lull you into a false sense of security. Every person should read this list of MCS links, even if you are not currently sick. For those of you who are sick with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, this list may become your best friend.
