Recently I was making dinner, a healthier version of fried chicken cooked in a stainless steel long handled skillet in the oven. I put the skillet in the oven for 45 min. on 350 degrees, then on broil for about 10-15 minutes. I opened the oven door with every intention of removing the skillet by the long stainless steel handle with my right pot holdered hand. Before I could reach in, my 5 month old kitten jumped onto the small table next to the oven, and got into jumping position, about to jump into the oven, which was still on broil!
Without thinking, I threw my gloved right hand and arm up to block the kitten from jumping into the oven, and grabbed the handle of the pan with my completely unprotected left hand, which had no oven mit or pot holder on it. My hand was completely bare. I grabbed the pan handle, stood up, shut the oven door with my hip, and only then did I realize my hand was tightly wrapped around this 750+ degree metal handle, and burning, badly!
I dropped the pan on the stove top, ran to the sink, turned on the cold water and held my hand under it, screaming like a banchee the entire time. By now I was crying, the pain was unbearable. Some parts of my fingers were already turning white, and blistering. The rest of my hand was fire engine red in color, and I could feel the temperature in my hand was still rising.
I continued holding my hand under the running cold water for about 10 minutes. Then I filled a large bowl with very cold water and submerged my hand in itup past my wrist. During the minute I had my hand out of the water to fill the bowl, I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. The internal temperature of my hand was clearly still rising. After about 10 more minutes of soaking, I refilled the bowl, adding 2 trays of ice to it to get the water temperature as cold as possible. I asked my daughter to get me a full bottle of Young Living Lavender Essential Oil. I added the full 15 ml bottle of therapeutic grade Lavender essential oil to the bowl of ice water. As I stood there soaking my hand, my mind was racing….. was this a severe 2nd degree burn, or was it going to be a 3rd degree burn? Either way, I was in trouble. It was my hand, the thing we all use the most and can not be without.
By now it was 10pm. My choices were to go to the Emergency room, or continue soaking my hand in the Lavender Essential Oil bath. This was truely a crisis situation. My extensive medical background told be to get to the local hospital for treatment, my Young Living Essential Oil background told me to stay put. Young Living won. I had my daughter carry the Lavander Oil ice bath back to my bedroom while I shuffled along, never removing my hand from the lavender bath. I got comfy sitting up in bed with my bowl snuggled in next to me. After about 1 hour, I removed my hand from the bowl. My fingers were partially curled, my hand was a mishmosh of white and deep red patches. After only about 2 or 3 minutes out of this bath, I could feel the temperature rising quickly, and again the pain became unbearable. It felt as if my hand was quite literally on fire!
I plunged my hand back into the Lavander Ice bath, moving my entire arm to swirl the water around to keep the Lavander Oil well mixed. I soaked my hand for roughly 4 more hours. By now it was almost 3 am, I was exhausted. I removed my hand from the Lavander Essential Oil ice bath, got a large sterile gauze pad, soaked the pad in more therapeutic grade Lavender Oil, placed it on the palm of my hand, (which was still curled as if still holding the pan handle), wrapped it on, and fell asleep, hoping for the best.
When I awoke a few hours later, I tentatively removed the gauze pad. My hand was still very blotchy, but nothing like it had been when I first submerged it. It no longer felt like it was on fire, in fact it was not painful at all. Ok, what next? I tried separating my fingers from each other…that didn’t hurt. I tried straightening my fingers…that didn’t hurt. I tried wiggling my fingers…that didn’t hurt. So far so good. I closely inspected the skin visually. I just was not sure if I should touch it. I was literally afraid it would slough (fall) off if I did. I got a new sterile gauze pad, put Young Living Lavender Oil on it, placed it on my palm and re-wrapped it, hoping for the best.
I left it wrapped up for 1 day, trying not to use it at all. The next day, I unwrapped it. It was like unwrapping a present on Christmas morning. My hand looked perfectly normal! There were no blisters, no red or white blotches. Nothing at all. It looked exactly like my never burned right hand! Whoopee! I could not believe my eyes. No traditional medical treatment, no emergency room, no Silvadene Cream, no debridement. Nothing except cold water and Young Living Therapeutic Grade Lavender Essential Oil.
It’s been about 6 weeks, and my hand still looks and feels as though it had never been burned. My personal medical opinion is that this is absolutely nothing short of a miraculous recovery. Every week I find myself grabbing a bottle of Young Living Essential Oil while in the midst of a crisis situation, and every time I’ve had a positive outcome. What a blessing that I was able to avoid the infection riddled Emergency Room this time, as well as the money I saved by not being treated in a hospital.
I had a fantastic outcome to this very severe 2nd degree burn. I do not recommend that anyone else try this with any other type of essential oil except the Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. Those other health food store aromatherapy essential oils are typically garbage, you’re lucky if there’s actually 2 or 3 drops of actual essential oil in them, and they certainly are not Therapeutic Grade oils. My response was as excellent as it was because I used the real thing… Young Living Essential Oils. They are pure, undiluted, unadulterated Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.
What a relief to have such a wonderful treatment for this burn that was all natural, that I did not have to leave my home to treat, that I didn’t have to go wait in the emergency room for hours, being exposed to all types of germs, and at a very low cost to boot! It cost me $20.00 to treat my burned hand. That’s it. The priceless part is that my hand was completely cured, no scarring, no blistering, and I have complete and total use of and feeling in my hand as if it had never been burned, and that is priceless.
Although I have been a nurse for 30 years, I’m finding that I have a better outcome to burns and infections using alternative treatments, all of which include Young Living Essential Oils.
I hope my wonderful positive experiences will encourage others to step out of the circle of traditional antibiotic medicine and into the circle of all natural green eco friendly alternative medicine therapies. If we don’t take charge of our own bodies, no one else will.
I highly recommend to all of you reading this that you keep a bottle of Young living Essential Oil Lavender in your First Aid kit. None of us know when an emergency like mine is going to occur, that’s why they call it an emergency.
Do not expect to get these results with any other brand of Essential Lavender Oil.

I'm looking forward to helping you get "on with living" in a happy, healthy, chemical and pain-free way as I, my family and our pets have.

Many years ago I discovered that I could make all kinds of products using therapeutic-grade essential oils and other common ingredients that are found in almost every household. What I was most surprised to find was that the products I made myself were not only less expensive, because the yield was greater, but they were much more effective than comparable products I bought in the store.
Skins exposure to summer sun can become dry and itchy, here is a terrific way to get rid of the itchiness, smooth wrinkles, and maintain radiant youthful looking skin. What I personally enjoy most using these products is that I’m putting something extremely pure on my skin and no worries about what kind of chemicals might be in there that will have negative affects on my overall health and wellness.
