Heart healthy fruits and vegetablesHormones that increase with age, such as cortisol can also contribute to many age-related chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, abdominal obesity and blood sugar imbalances. Lowering cortisol levels not only increases immunity but also increases insulin sensitivity and enhances fat metabolism.

One of the most easy-to-understand examples of the detrimental effects of cell membrane brittleness (aging) occurs in the blood vessel walls. As the blood vessels lose their flexibility, the risk of hypertension (high blood pressure) increases, as does the incidence of arteriosclerosis.

Taking measures to reduce stress, exercise, avoiding vitamin and mineral deficiencies with proper supplementation, and enjoying the relaxing effects of aromatherapy can help you get better control of your health.

The Young Living Whole-Home Water Filtration System filters all water that enters your home, including water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing. The Young Living Water Filtration System is a safe and effective way to help you feel good about the water you drink. This exceptional system will provide your family with years of healthy, great-tasting water. Designed for easy installation by a qualified plumber or experienced homeowner, it contains a special dual-gradient density particulate filter and a separate activated carbon filter. Enjoy drinking pure, chemical-free water with this home water purification system.

Instructions for Installation and Operation

How to use the Whole-Home Water Filtration System

Our water purifying system does not ionize or create alkaline water. The only heavy metal it may reduce would be lead, but only slightly. If you are in need of removing heavy metals, like lead or arsenic, we suggest using a reverse osmosis filtration system. Fluoride is inorganic and therefore is relatively unaffected by our Whole House Water Filtration System. If you wish to remove fluoride from your tap water, we recommend a reverse-osmosis system. The whole house filtration system that we carry does not employ a reverse osmosis process.

The carbon filter which is part of the filtration system will deliver water that is essentially free of chlorine, volatile organic compounds, and other organic compounds.

The filters can process 8 gallons per minute and are intended to filter 150,000 gallons of water before the filters need to be replaced. This can lessened depending on the specific water filtration needs. The post filter inside of the Carbon filter filters to .5 microns. The Sediment filter filters to 5 microns.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Household pesticide use has been linked to prenatal exposure to household pesticides according to a December 2007 study, Household Exposure to Pesticides and Risk of Childhood Hematopoietic Malignancies: The ESCALE Study (SFCE). In the study, French scientists used data from a large survey about childhood cancers and examined the relationship between parents’ use of household pesticides and the occurrence of acute leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and Hodgkin lymphoma in their child. They found that the use of any pesticide by the mother during pregnancy was associated with an increased likelihood of acute leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the child.

Researchers examined information about the mother’s pesticide use during the pregnancy. They also looked at use of pesticides by the father during the combined period of the pregnancy and the child’s early years. The pesticides were differentiated as: “weed killers” (herbicides); fungicides; or insecticides used in the home, on pets, or on garden crops.

Analysis by the type of pesticide used by mothers during pregnancy showed that acute leukemia was linked to use of home and pet insecticides, and to a lesser degree, herbicides. Using insecticides on garden crops was linked to non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

In the initial analysis, the father’s use of insecticides during the pregnancy and the child’s early years was associated with acute leukemia. However, when researchers looked at the combined effects of maternal and paternal use, the risk for acute leukemia appeared to be attributable to the mother’s pesticide use. Paternal use of both insecticides and herbicides was linked to non-Hodgkin lymphoma, but researchers were not able to draw conclusions about the overall strength of this effect.

Researchers also found that certain subtypes of leukemia and lymphoma were strongly associated with either maternal pesticides or paternal pesticide use.

The authors pointed out that other studies have also linked childhood leukemia and lymphoma to children’s exposure to pesticides. Among theses studies, prenatal pesticide exposure appears to carry slightly more risk than childhood exposure. Given this information they concluded that perhaps pregnant women should not use pesticides.

Lavender-Mint and Copaiba-Vanilla Shampoo's and Conditioner'sMany men and women prefer to shave while showering. In place of shaving cream, after washing your hair try a small dab of Young Living (YL) conditioner applied to legs, under arms, or face. I use and prefer YL hair care products because they are all-natural and contain therapeutic-grade essential oils; they smell excellent and are healthy for you.

YL Conditioners: Lavender, Copaiba-Vanilla, Lavender-Mint, Lemon-Sage, or Rosewood.

Leaves your skin feeling soft and silky! Which is an added bonus for those who like to have soft skin but don’t like using body lotions during the summertime because it leaves skin feeling clogged or coated.

Note: these conditioners are extremely concentrated, so a very small dab is plenty.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Food-grade Essential Oils for Cooking:Oregano, Basil, Ocotea, Black Pepper, Nutmeg.Being extremely concentrated, essential oils contain virtually all of the plants healing nutrients, oxygenating molecules, amino acid precursors, co-enzyme A factors, trace minerals, enzymes, vitamins, hormones and more. Because therapeutic-grade essential oils are far more concentrated than the fresh or dried herbs they are 50 to 70 times more therapeutically potent than the herbs and plants they are derived from.

Unlike dried herbs, which lose 90% – 95% of their healing nutrients and oxygen molecules, therapeutic-grade essential oils do not.

Best of all, 100% pure, therapeutic food grade essential oils are freely available and safe for cooking and home use. I only trust, use, and recommend Young Living Essential Oils.

There are approximately 60 drops of essential oil per teaspoon while this may not seem like much it is important to remember… “one” drop of peppermint oil equals about 28 cups of peppermint tea.

I have been using fresh and dried herbs for cooking and medicinal purposes for over 30 years. When I learned that essential oils were far more potent I began to understand why my fresh and dried herb remedies took weeks or months to work… it’s because they contained very little essential oil. It’s the essential oil part of the plant that contains all of the healing properties, not the green leafy parts, or the root, or the bark. The essential oil part is amazingly fragile and is volatile, meaning they dissipate into the air and that doesn’t provide me with any benefits when I’m not feeling well.

So while this was great news, I still needed to spend a little time understanding how to substitute the essential oil for the dried or fresh herb.

Please Note: 98% of all essential oils in the world are not safe to ingest. This article only refers to the use of Young Living (YL) Essential Oils, they are the purest and most superior essential oils I have encountered.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Tangerine essential oilOne of my favorite ways to use my Young Living essential oils is in a glass of water. This is very refreshing and tasty. For those who are watching their weight, this is an excellent way to get a nice flavor and no calories! Additionally, you will be getting the benefit of therapeutic-grade essential oils.

This tip is only for the use of Young Living Essential Oils. Other brands are not pure enough and therefore not safe to ingest.

How to Make No Calorie Flavored Water

In an 8 oz. glass of water (please do not use a plastic or Styrofoam cup) add “ONE” drop of any of the following essential oils:

Single Essential Oils: Peppermint, Lemon, Grapefruit, Tangerine, Lemongrass, Orange, Spearmint, Frankincense.

Essential Oil Blends: Citrus Fresh, Thieves, EndoFlex, Di-Gize, Longevity.

Tip: do not use more than one single drop, the Young Living oils that can be used in flavoring foods and beverages are extremely potent. It is said that “one” drop of Young Living peppermint essential oil is the equivalent of 28 cups of Peppermint Tea – so use a very light touch.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

White Angelica Essential OilAromatherapy, using therapeutic-grade essential oils, is a wonderful way to uplift and balance emotions. These are the most popular essential oil blends specifically formulated to promote emotional clearance and self-renewal.

How Aromatherapy Works

The fragrance of a therapeutic-grade essential oil can directly affect everything from your emotional state to your lifespan. When any scent or fragrance is inhaled, the odor molecules travel up the nose where they are trapped by olfactory membranes. When stimulated by odor molecules, this lining of nerve cells triggers electrical impulses to the olfactory bulb in the brain. The limbic system is directly connected to the parts of the brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress levels, and hormone balance, therapeutic-grade essential oils can have profound physiological and psychological effects. The sense of smell is the only one of the five senses directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain, our emotional control center.

Scent stimulates nerves to fire in the emotional center of the brain, but it also stimulates the master gland to release hormones. Hormones affect the fight/flight response, as well as digestion and heart rate. In this way, essential oils can affect us in many ways all at once, just through their fragrance. More about the olfactory system and how scent can shift emotional states.
