Anxiety is such a consuming part of our society, especially in these times with all of the stresses of our economy.   Stress can be the root of many ailments which we may be experiencing in our life. It is tremendously important for us to be as stress free as possible. That is not an easy task to fulfill, without some kind of help.

There are so many ways of calming our lives down.  Most importantly is to try to achieve a calm environment in a natural way, rather than with medications. Of course not all circumstances can work this way. What would be nice is if people were willing to “open the door” to experience natural ways that one may be very amazed by the results.

Prayer, meditation, yoga, soft music, walks in the outdoors, soak in the tub, time with family, friends and pets, are all “natural” ways that my be calming to you.

Another alternative suggestion is essential oil therapy. In this article you will read how essential oils are very beneficial in balancing the emotions and harmonizing anxiety. Read the rest of this entry »

Natural, alternative therapies for Asthma comfort?  Wouldn’t it be nice to have an alternative? Another choice that may be complementary to the therapies you are currently using?  In this article you will learn of “natures” alternatives for natural remedies that are readily available.

Asthma is an inflammatory disorder of the airways, which is characterized by variable and recurring symptoms causing attacks of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.  These symptoms may be prevented by avoiding triggers, such as allergens, irritants and stress.

The prevalence of asthma has increased significantly since the 1970s. As of 2009, 300 million people were affected worldwide. In 2009 asthma caused 250,000 deaths, although generally with treatment, prognosis is good.

Common symptoms of asthma include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing. Symptoms are often worse at night or in the early morning, or in response to exercise or cold air.

Many environmental risk factors have been associated with asthma development and morbidity in children;

Environmental tobacco smoke, low air quality from traffic pollution, outdoor air pollutants or high ozone levels, along with pets and dust mites.

The most effective treatment for asthma is identifying triggers, such as cigarette smoke, pets, or aspirin, and eliminating exposure to them. Read the rest of this entry »

Superior and truly pure essential oils are complex volatile aromatic substances distilled from some types plants, trees and roots. The reason why fungus, bacteria and viruses cannot mutate in the presence of therapeutic-grade essential oils is due to their complexity. With that in mind, I’m going to share with you a few of the easy things I know that will help you buy the best essential oils like a pro.

Have you ever noticed that someone wearing perfume, aftershave, or perhaps scented laundry products (detergent, dryer sheets, etc.), soaps, or any other type of scented product always smells the same no matter if it’s 2 inches away from your nose or 20 feet away? There is a reason why. It’s because it’s a chemical fragrance and there’s nothing natural about it at all. Or, because the essential oil complex compounds have been destroyed in some form of processing – heat is always a destroyer of essential oil compounds and the reason why we shouldn’t use heat-type diffusers when diffusing our superior quality essential oils.

Over the years, I have been to many health food stores and when I’m in the mood for entertaining myself I will stop by the aromatherapy section and do some sniffing. While doing this never fails to make me feel like a detective sniffer dog, I at least walk away knowing what’s being sold out there… as you probably know by now, all man-made chemicals are toxic and are a significant contributor to allergies and other sensitivities.

Essential oils are NEVER distilled from: strawberries, blueberries, lilac, melon, papaya, ocean or sea breezes, coconut, chocolate, gardenia, banana, or springtime. These and many others, are always created from chemicals.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Autoship is system whereby a company rewards loyal customers with lower prices. Many companies make use of it to provide a constant stream of product to their customers. It is used mostly by companies that sell consumables, however, some companies that do not sell consumables use it as well.

It comes in many guises. Young Living has an autoship program. Time magazine has an autoship program. The Wall Street Journal has an autoship program. Anything you have delivered on a regular basis is an autoship program. A book of the month club, the cheese of the month club and others like them are autoship programs. Even your home delivered newspaper can be an autoship program. Some of the names are autoship, continuity, home delivery, club and others.

Companies such as Guthy-Renker (having products like Wen by Chaz Dean, Principle Secret by Victoria Principle, Natural Advantage by Jane Seymore and others) and Young Living excel at the autoship program. The important thing is to understand how the program works and to use it to your benefit.

The Good

The benefits of autoship are many and varied, but they all have the same basics. Read the rest of this entry »

Being highly concentrated, Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils contain virtually all of the plants healing nutrients, oxygenating molecules, amino acid precursors, coenzyme A factors, trace minerals, enzymes, vitamins, hormones and more. Chamomile flowers

Because essential oils are so concentrated they are from 50 to 70 times more therapeutically potent than the herbs or plants they are derived from!

Unlike dried herbs, which lose up to 90% to 95% of their healing nutrients and oxygen molecules when dried, essential oils do not.

Interesting Fact

Essential oils have a chemical structure that is similar to human cells and tissues. This makes essential oils compatible with human protein and enables them to be readily identified and accepted by the body.

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly." ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

When you’re just starting out with essential oils it can be overwhelming. There are over one hundred essential oils which probably leaves you with over a hundred questions. Which ones do I get? How do I use them? Are they safe to put directly on my skin?

I recommend everyone should start off with lavender. It’s a great oil that can be used for so many different things. Lavender was first discovered when a French scientist burnt his arm in a laboratory accident and used lavender to promote tissue regeneration and to speed wound healing. This oil has a calming and relaxing fragrance both physically and emotionally. Keeping lavender in the home will give you many options on how to use it:

Rub a couple drops of lavender on your feet, shoulders, and pillow to help you get a good night’s sleep

Put a drop of lavender on a cut or burn to help with pain, stop bleeding and promote quick healing

Diffuse lavender throughout the day to reduce stress

Put 5 drops of lavender on a damp wash cloth and place in the dryer for a homemade dryer sheet

Rub a drop of lavender on scars daily to help minimize scar tissue

Mix 2-3 drops of lavender in with a handful of Epsom salt and place in a warm bath to help with menstrual cramps

Put a drop of lavender on a insect sting or bite to reduce pain or itching

Place a drop of lavender behind your ears to ease motion sickness

Put a few drops of lavender in a container of distilled water and spray on a sunburn to ease pain

These are just a few of the many uses of lavender. Lavender is a great addition to any first aid kit especially if you’ve got children. Kids are always falling down and skinning knees. Lavender stops the tears and helps calm a worried mind.

So if you’re just starting out with essential oils and don’t really know where to begin I recommend lavender. It’s worth every penny. Lavender is also found in many Young Living essential oil blends and other products such as: Awaken, Dragon Time massage oil, KidScents Tender Tush, Lavender Volume Shampoo, and many others.

Today, we live in a society of emotional turmoil. There is more focus on emotional behavior and psychological conditions of the body now than at any time in our history. Many doctors are recognizing the possibility that a number of diseases are caused by emotional problems that link back to infancy and perhaps even to the womb.

These emotional problems may have compromised our immune system or genetic structuring, causing children to become allergic to something that the mother ingested while pregnant.

Essential oils play an important role in assisting people to move beyond these emotional barriers. The aldehydes and esters of certain essential oils are very calming and sedating to the central nervous system (including both the sympathetic and para¬sympathetic systems).

These substances allow us to relax instead of letting anxiety build up in our body. Anxiety creates an acidic condition that activates the transcript enzyme which then transcribes that anxiety on the RNA template and stores it in the DNA. That emotion then becomes a predominant factor in our lives from that moment on.

When we encounter an emotionally charged situation, instead of being overwhelmed by it, we can diffuse essential oils, put them in our bath, or wear them as cologne.

The aromatic molecules will absorb into the bloodstream from the nasal cavity to the limbic system. They will activate the amygdala (the memory center for fear and trauma) and sedate and relax the sympathetic/para¬sympathetic system. Read the rest of this entry »
