Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) has a warm, sweet, herbaceous scent that is relaxing and calming for both mind and body. Its gentleness makes it especially valuable for restless children. Soothing to all types of skin, it is used extensively in Europe in skin preparations. Roman chamomile is also beneficial when added to massage oil for relief of muscle discomfort after exercise. Roman chamomile was one of the Saxons’ nine sacred herbs.

For centuries, Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) has been used in Europe for skin regeneration, and mothers have used chamomile to calm crying children, combat digestive and liver ailments, and relieve toothaches. The essential oil is distilled from the flowering tops.

Summer Chamomile Milk Bath Recipe

Mix all the ingredients together and add to a warm (not hot) running bath water. Soak for 15-20 minutes.

Medical Properties of Roman Chamomile: Relaxant, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic, nerve regenerative, anesthetic, detoxifies blood and liver.

Uses for Roman Chamomile: Helps to relieve restlessness, anxiety, ADHD. depression, insomnia, skin conditions (acne, dermatitis, eczema)

Roman Chamomile’s Fragrant Influence: Because it is calming and relaxing, it can help combat depression, insomnia, and stress. It minimizes anxiety, irritability, and nervousness. It may also dispel anger, stabilize the emotions, and help to release emotions that are linked to the past.

Assorted Application Methods:

  • Apply 2-4 drops on location, ankles, or wrists
  • Apply to Chakras/Vita Flex points
  • Inhale directly from the bottle
  • Diffuse
  • Take as dietary supplement. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat or rice milk. Note: Do not substitute other brands for this method as most essential oils are not food-grade and cannot be taken as a supplement or used in cooking.
