Cooking with superior essential oils that are food grade is an easy and terrific way to add flavor and nutrition to your recipes. This particular recipe uses the EndoFlex essential oil blend. While you’re adding great flavor to your food you’re also bringing into the dish an essential oil, EndoFlex, with is 100% pure and organic, to help support the endocrine system.

EndoFlex is a therapeutic-grade essential blend of: Spearmint (Mentha spicata), Sage (Salvia officinalis), Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), Myrtle (Myrtus communis), Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans), and German Chamomile (Matriciaria recutita). in a base of sesame seed oil.

This is a nice change from a typical potato salad recipe, the delicious flavors make this an excellent side-dish with any summertime meal.

Peppermint and Lavender essential oils“Recently a family member got into some poison ivy. Whereas they were not severely allergic to it as some people are, the itch did make them pretty miserable! After trying some home remedies on the affected area’s and not seeing much help, we finally found a winning combination that dried the little blisters up and halted the spreading.

The combination was a blend using equal parts of the following therapeutic grade essential oils (we used them straight, but you could cut them with olive oil-this is especially recommended for children); Read the rest of this entry »

Our horse had a huge abscess in his foot, which blew out a chunk of hoof; leaving a section missing, a huge crack, and deep infected internal pocket.  He was completely lame, unable to go clockwise at all in any gait. I treated this by first flushing it with peroxide and it literally smoked!  His ankle and hoof were hot to the touch and the ankle was swollen and hot.

I went back the next day with my essential oils.  I scrubbed the frog with Thieves Hand Soap, rinsed, irrigated with peroxide which still smoked, then injected my Clove, Oregano and Thieves mixture into the crack then wrapped it with gauze to hold in any oil that leaked out.

When I went back the next day, the ankle was perfect; he was no longer favoring his injured foot. It was no longer hot, or even remotely warm.  Again I injected peroxide… no smoke.  I injected my essential oil combo and let it be.

What an awesome, no antibiotic, fast, healthy, alternative treatment to an infection!  My lame horse of 36 hours previous was now cantering away, and happy to do it!

The farrier was out 3 days later… his frog was completely healed with no signs of any internal abscess, not foot tender at all.  The barn owner calls it “the voodoo that I do”! Read the rest of this entry »

Treatment of a deep puncture wound with laceration and infection was not something I had experienced as yet with our horse, which he soon remedied.  Our horse injured himself with a deep puncture wound and laceration on a Sunday, most likely from a nail in his paddock fencing.

When I talked to the barn owner on Monday, he told me it was deep enough that I should consider calling in a vet for an open debridement and stitches.  I went Tuesday morning. When I saw him, the swelling around the wound on his neck was slightly larger then the size of a tennis ball, deep, clearly sensitive to the touch, and it was clear he was unhappy at best.  I flushed the wound copiously with peroxide.  I’m a big believer in Essential Oils.  I made a blend of Pure Therapeutic grade Essential oils, mixed them with 15 drops of water, and slowly irrigated them into the wound with a needle-less syringe, paying particular attention to the puncture “hole” in the wound.  The wound at that time was clearly infected. I could see pus deep within the wound.  I believed wholeheartedly that the Young Living Essential Oils would work, however, everyone was telling me he needed antibiotics and open debridement with stitches.

I went and repeated this essential oil irrigation on Wednesday.  The wound was only slightly less swollen.  The horse was in pain.  I did call the vet, who came on Thursday. Read the rest of this entry »

Working with Emotions: The Shadow Side and Using Essential Oils for Support

A free webinar with Evelyn Vincent and David Zarza, C.Ht. Explore Your Shadow

The Shadow is an essential part of all of us and as natural as our memory or our emotions. Within our Shadow, we store away those parts of us — whether emotions, thoughts, beliefs, experiences or characteristics — because we and others may judge them as bad, unacceptable, shameful or dark. Fortunately, the Shadow isn’t all bad, in fact its quite good as it is one of the easiest routes for us to reach our goodness; our Light.

David Zarza has had the pleasure of many years assisting clients to uncover and integrate their Shadow parts. In that time, he has noticed that the Shadow has an amazing impetus, like a drive towards wholeness and health; very much like Young Living Essential Oils support and enhance our health and well-being.

Evelyn Vincent has been using essential oils for over twenty years and has been teaching the benefits of essential oils to those who choose a more natural and conscious lifestyle.

In this webinar Evelyn and David will instruct attendee’s how to use essential oils when working with Shadow. In a safe and gentle way, they’ll lead you through a process of uncovering some of what may be in your Shadow; to appreciate it in a new light and perhaps even embrace your Shadow side.

Generally speaking, we rarely explore our darker nature with excitement and a smile. However, Evelyn and David will show you how rewarding and fulfilling exploring your Shadow with Young Living Essential Oils can be!

Bunny rabbit with Sore HocksAntibiotics failed to cure or reduce infection, sore hocks, wound abscess and necrotic tissue in our rabbit.  Here is my story on how we successfully overcame that using essential oils.

Where to turn when antibiotics fail to cure infection

We have two rescue bunnies with severe splayed legs (all 4 on each).  They will chronically develop sore hocks, wound abscesses and necrotic areas for the rest of their lives.  Not only were the vet bills astronomical, the antibiotic Baytril was no longer effective.  Rabbits are extremely sensitive to almost all medication available, with only a couple antibiotics able to be used safely on a bunny.

Our most recent issue was that the sore hock became necrotic and pulled into the bone.  It was so hard you could “knock” on it, was hot around the perimeter, red and was about 8” in diameter.  Midnight looked very sick, and I wasn’t sure we were going to be able to save her.  The vet put Midnight on 15 days of Baytril antibiotic, after I said “no” to him when he suggested euthanizing her. Even on the antibiotics Midnight’s wound continued to get worse.  She lost all hair in that area and the surrounding area.

Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils provided the key to successful treatment for us!

We gave her a bath with Johnsons Baby shampoo of the entire area, followed by an area specific bath with Thieves foaming hand soap.  Once she was dry, we applied Thieves spray to the necrotic area, held her on her back for 10 minutes, then sprayed LavaDerm on, held her for 10 more minutes to facilitate absorption.  Before putting her back on bedding, we applied Bag Balm as a waterproof barrier.  We did this twice the first day. The effects therapeutic* essential oils have on the mind and body are well documented. In one University study researchers in Japan found that diffusing certain aromas in an office environment dramatically improved mental accuracy and concentration.

  • Lemon resulted in 54 percent fewer errors
  • Jasmine 33 percent fewer errors
  • Lavender 20 percent fewer errors

When aromas were diffused during test taking, scores increased by as much as 50 percent! Aromatic essential oils have further been documented to improve concentration and mental acuity. In a University of Miami study researchers found that inhalation of Lavender essential oil increased beta waves in the brain, suggesting heightened relaxation. It also reduced depression and improved cognitive performance (Diego et al., 1998).

A 2001 Osaka Kyoiku University study found that therapeutic* Lavender reduced mental stress and increased alertness (Motomura et al., 2001).

Two studies showed that a diffused blend of lavender and orange essential oils reduced stress and anxiety in dentist waiting rooms, read the article. Read the rest of this entry »

Do you ever feel like you could use a quick pick me up to feel happier? Have you ever thought of how a scent changes how you feel, or brings up memories of someone or something from your past? When you get to feeling low and want to get away from that feeling what do you do?

It is inevitable that we all are going to have bad moments or bad days. From stubbing our toe, breaking a glass, or getting some bad news. Suggestion, try not watching the news for a week.  We here about the news in our every day lives,  and it is most likely going to be sad, bad news, so why not remove oneself from it for a while.  You may realize you don’t need to watch the news. You won’t miss out, because if you don’t watch it on TV, for sure you will hear about it from someone.

So what kind of quick fixes are there that may help you to feel better? Better yet, is this quick fix going to help you to feel better in a natural way rather than using a drug or chemical of some sort.  The answer is YES!!

Being a regular user of therapeutic-grade essential oils I am aware of the joyful, uplifting oils that are available.  I always start my day applying an essential oil and I have available with me at all times, different essential oils that may help me or others for various circumstances.
