bath-fizzersI found this video on You Tube awhile back, and thought it had some really great ideas as well as good points. Young Living Lavender essential oil and products are some of our family favorites. Soothing, and healing to the skin, lavender is a versatile and wonderfully relaxing oil, however you could use other Young Living oils in place of the lavender in these recipes. Some suggestions for floral scents would include, Gentle Baby, Harmony, Sensation, Joy, Rose, and Ylang Ylang. Some more earthy scents could include Cedarwood, Rosewood,  Juniper, and Inspiration. Spicy scents can be created using these blends: Thieves, Christmas Spirit, and Magnify Your Purpose.

You could even make your own combination’s, such as Grapefruit and Ylang Ylang (uplifting for down moods), Bergamot and Coriander, or Peppermint and Eucalyptus dives.

When you make the bath fizzers, be sure to make the baking soda wet enough to pack into the molds without crumbling when you go to take them out. I did not have a mold, so I used a plain tablespoon (mine made half circles, pictured above). I let mine sit overnight to dry, but I did lightly drape a piece of plastic wrap over the top and a kitchen towel (to hole the wrap down) just because I didn’t want too much of the oil to get lost in the air overnight. This was so much fun,and these ideas make great gifts too!

Making your own bath and body products is a very wise choice in my opinion. It seems chemicals have found their way into so many products on the store shelves. Even products labeled “natural” often still have chemicals lurking in them. So many chemicals are bad for you, and do find their way into the body.  For more information on this, visit my related articles below. Article contributed by Shayla.
