The gift giving season is coming in just two months!! I would like to share some fun and easy gift ideas that you can make at home. They don’t cost a lot of money and they don’t take a lot of time to make. Yet they are gifts that are so well received by the gift receivers.
If you are having people in for any type of gathering sometimes it’s nice to have little gifts for them. This is a nice gesture and no matter how small, the kindness can make someone feel special.
One way to do this is to make sachets with aromatherapy bath salts. Its easy, inexpensive and can be made as fancy as your heart desires. I am more of a simple gal. Simplicity works for me and the thought are still well received.
Here is what you need to make it happen:
- Pick up sachets at a craft store or go to www.orientaltrading.com. The prices at this site may be more affordable if you plan on making sachets often. This site also has some fun and funky ideas, so check it out if you would liken
- Here is another sachet site that is unique too, however it is more expensive. Here is the site: Alice’s Home and Cottage
- Buy a two pound back of Epsom Salt. This can be purchased at the super market.
- Purchase a bottle of your choice of therapeutic-grade Lavender or Peppermint essential oil. Purchase Oil Here
Peppermint and Lavender make a really nice combination for a pleasant foot soak.
Here is the recipe to make Lavender bath salt:
- 2 cups Epsom Salt in stainless or glass bowl
- 5-10 drops therapeutic-grade Lavender essential oil
- 10 sachets
For me 10 drops of Lavender oil is just right. However what I do is I start by adding 5 drops of Lavender oil into the Epsom Salt, stirring, and then smelling. I then continue to add 1-2 drops of Lavender at a time and stir and smell. The 10 drops of Lavender is a perfect aromatic scent to me. This bath salt may be very relaxing for soaking in the tub.
Here is the recipe for making Peppermint bath salt:
- 2 cups Epsom Salt in stainless or glass bowl
- 5-10 drops of therapeutic-grade Peppermint essential oil
- 10 sachets
For me 8 drops of Peppermint oil is just right. However what I do is I start by adding 5 drops of Peppermint oil into the Epsom Salt, stirring, and then smelling. I then continue to add 1-2 drops of Peppermint oil at a time and stir and smell. The 8 drops of Peppermint oil is a perfect aromatic scent to me.
Keep in mind that the essential oils I am writing about are NOT perfume grade essential oils.
Note: All essential oils are NOT created equal. Most essential oils are of lower quality. Therefore, do NOT use the information provided here for other brands. Learn why quality is so important.
