The historical data of Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) essential oil is that it has been used most often for purification and digestive purposes. Research was published in Phytotherapy Research on topically applied lemongrass for its powerful antifungal properties. Lemongrass essential oil is distilled from the leaves of an edible grass, shown here.  lemongrass-plant

I enjoy Young Living Lemongrass essential oil for many purposes: as part of a massage for soft tissue repair (2 drops with a carrier oil is plenty), taken as a supplement (again 1 or 2 drops is plenty for me), as a seasoning in cooking, diffuse with Thieves to kill mold. This essential oil is very potent and a drop or two goes a long way. Lemongrass is also one of two essential oils I would want if I were only permitted two, my other choice is the essential oil blend called Thieves. Having those two in my arsenal are very comforting to my mind because I rely on my essential oils for wellness; these are no ordinary aromatherapy oils!
